Usual fade up and down signal here on the coast. I have gone by 1710
often and it is a regular here. I still here the carrier during the
middle of the day off the NE EWE.

Good Morning,
Listened from 1235-1308. MW signals dropped of 13
minutes before local sunrise. Just the three strongest
TP's heard with audio this morning.
153 RUSSIA, 1247 weak with music.
189 RUSSIA, 1247 weak with music.
549 Level 4 carrier 1248.

A rather interesting morning, from my perspective. Started listening at a
respectable 12:39 UTC and continued to about 13:25. Virtually concentrated all
the listening
to the bottom third of the band, as things from DU were really hopping here.
SF 67 A7 K2. Did, however, get weak audio from
Conditions were better today than yesterday and it was all DU per the loop.
Listened from 1230-1305 ut and heard many carriers all of which were on the
bottom part of the band.
531 Very weak audio at times.
594 Very weak audio at times.
774 3LO good at 1258 ut.

Walter and I were listening to different bands, again
today! Although I could hear/see a goodly number of DU hets, (+audio
from 612 and 756) I had a great Asian AM... best of the season, so
far. All the Japanese Big Guns were there (594 was the poorest). The
stars of the morning were China

Audio on 585, 594, 612, 738, 774, 828, 945, 972...
listened from 1230 til 1245

Good for you, Colin! Now I'll have someone (besides John Bryant) to compare
notes with.
Hello All,
For some reason, the Asiatic TP's reported by everyone else this morning
did not make it to this Puyallup Valley location. There was some modest DU
reception, however-- the opposite location from what I had always assumed my
modest DXing environment would favor.

ARGH! In my excitement I forgot to proofread my message, In the first
sentence replace things with thinking. I guess I need to think.
Please delete the previously sent message and my embarrassment.

This morning was overall worse than previous ones this week, with very few
TPs stronger than poor to fair. The conditions turned DU (except for 972
China) just before the band faded completely (1325-1330 UTC). I have yet to

This shows that WDKD 1310 is simulcast with WSIM or Star-FM 93.7

And with the Star-FM/Frank-FM connection on this page

doubt that we are talking about the same
In the back of my mind I was things about WDKD, but because of the lack
of evidence did not say anything. The reason I was thinking of WDKD was
in the past many East Coast DXers have logged them at night while they
were relaying their FMer, Star-FM. They are fairly easy here in Maryland

According to a quick Google search, WDKD simulcasts with WSIM-FM
Florence, which is branded as Star FM. WSIM is on 97.3 but has a
translator on 97.1, so perhaps there's been some recent station
shuffling. It may just be a red herring, but I thought I'd mention it.

channel or the translator.

Powell, look at this web. There is a reference to Frank-FM 97.1 and
Star-FM 93.7 FM. Star-FM is the station many East Coast DXers heard
IDing at night on 1310 which ended up being WDKD.

Bill
Walt and Others,
The difference in TP and DU propagation between John and the rest of us
seems really bizarre.
I had no trace of any TP audio this morning, but had decent audio from
738-Tahiti (1255) and threshold audio from 639-Fiji (despite a seriously
under-modulated signal).

I caught an ID at 9 PM when the Mexican mx in the mix stopped briefly..
Your listening to ..WKYW Frankfort then more mx. This on my 152 deg Phased
BOG System which is like magnet for stuff from the S to SE, esp in the upper
half of the band. WPNA is Polish and doesn't come in well at night
Nice sleuthing to you fellows who tracked down and came up with WDKD
carrying the Frank-FM message on 1310. It was a very enjoyable thread
to follow the past week or two. Just shows that Delaware Preachers can
stir up some action online :-) .

Hello All,
During the spring and summer, serious experimentation into large
PVC-framed tuned passive loops (of up to 9 feet per side) was undertaken here,
which
included the actual building of ten different loops-- with sizes ranging

Finding PVC to be an ideal,
CIGM 790 left the airwaves at EDT with a brief farewell, thanking
its listeners for their support since 1967 and promising that the

The transmitter is still on the air at 0058, with nothing but a tone. So
if you're hearing a mysterious tone on 790...well,
