Woke up at about 0300 EST and noted WLW IBOC was off. Not sure if that

laptop power pack. I now record using an external battery giving me 6 hours of
quiet recording. I get 4 from the external battery and 2 from the onboard

yep...1215 has weak audio at 2345UT, an hour before local sunset here . First
noticed carriers at 2330UT, but not 1575 particularly, and it still hasn't
produced a really strong carrier yet.
1134 is pretty strong, but any audio is imaginary in the CKWX splash. The a
lot of light carriers,
1134 in nicely on peaks at 0007 UTC, w/man woman in eastern European lang.

After falling asleep on the couch last night...and waking up at 2330
EST to see all the messages of everyone logging TransAtlantics all over the
place, I decided to pull out the ETON E-100 Slider and see what I could
hear!! I was hoping that I was not too late and they were all

Farda for a New Station, a New ULR Country (United Arab Emirates)...and
a New ULR Continent!! (I don't think UAE is regarded as Europe...is

and almost audio on 1584 and a fair het on 1593. Nothing on 1539

Audio from presumed Croatia has been dropping in and out on the
modified ICF-2010 (30 loopstick) here in my backyard, and hit at peak at 0118
(during which it was also audible on the stand-alone Slider E100). Male voice
heard at that time, but dropped out shortly
Had some bouncy audio on Farda 1575 for a few minutes -
settled down around 0105...
Other carriers noted on 1269, 1134, 1215 etc...

I heard this one in Masset, Nick as an unid. One of our
1435 het noted about 0205 but it seems to be gone now - certainly
non-plan so I have no idea what that could have been. 1494 also
noticeable. As was the case with 1584, I hope someone has the gear to
read them.

Discovering that the modified portables work much better in the frozen
back yard than inside the warm house, the 30 loopstick ICF-2010 and Slider
E100 were taken out to the icy picnic table in the patio, whereupon the Slider
E100 made a nice MP3 of male-voice audio from
1575 had threshold audio for a while, now a weak carrier, nothing on 1503,
1539, 1584 or 1593.

Just logged this beauty of a catch with apparent news by woman in French,
into French talk with mention of Luxembourg at 0505 UTC. Condx hanging on
in the lower band.
Also audio on 252 from 2 stations mixing.
