Hello friends
Isn't 2013 speeding past fast...heading into fall or
spring.and halfway through the current financial year already.
It continues to be a busy year, more new features, two brand new

After a long dry spell, I finally got a reply from WQQK643 Happy Valley

Tonight I took a portable out to the cable box in my neighbor's yard
(now moved) and across the street where the main box is and ran the
portable right next to the boxes and I did not detect any noise that I
could tell. At least no wide band noise. I was on 600 kHz which is
fairly clear frequency
KMON MT seems to ND tonight, with a dominant signal off the NE EWE at
S9+20DB with CW. Anyone needs them, check out 560.

Martin et al,
I have an extensive in house computer network ie, firewall, wired router,
2 switches, and a wireless router. I have 11 computers (all linux
except 2 OS-X Apple). I get little or no interference from any of this.
I do get interference from my computer monitor occasionally. I
Patrick,
Congratulations on your verification of WQQK643 Happy Valley, OR. They are not
that strong here at 42 miles.
At around 84 miles from your location, a very nice catch. Have you heard the
Weyerhaeuser station in Long View, WA
on 1700 kHz?

A 10 year old QSL Request is finally going to get answered!
I was Station Manager at Travelers Information Radio 1300/WTIR Cocoa Beach,

Hello All,
Asian TP's rebounded somewhat from a dreary session yesterday, but they still
ended up well below their optimal levels. Several big guns (594, 747, 828, 972
and 1053) managed fair to good audio at times, with 972-HLCA and the
1053-Jammer once again the best of the bunch
'Sure wish I could log KMON here in Southern CA. ('Mostly just KSFO, KLZ,
KBLU). They have always been good about providing bumper stickers for our IRCA
conventions. Mike Sanburn

KMON as well as KBOW are common here, but both are nearly non existant
at night nulling the West. So it is realy noticable when either are
dominant.

Hi All:
Noticed today that WZZW, 1600, Milton, WV, is back on the air, though with a
rather weaker signal than they used to have. They're still //WVHU, 800,
Huntington. Also noted that WVHU is back to running two-station IDs at the top
of the hour.

On Wednesday around local sunset, I did a little DXing out of the car at the
Tonset Road site in Orleans, MA (GC= 41.7346 N / 69.991 W).
Receiver was the Perseus and antenna the car-roof-mounted 2m by 2m

Hi Paul,
I'm happy that Allen Ogrizovich is finally going to get his WTIR 1680 QSL.
He and I were teenage DXing buddies in the Chicago area in 1970, and we used to
go to Richard C. Evans' house in Whiting, Indiana (with others) for DXing
get-togethers.

Subject: [IRCA] Orleans, MA: a few DX audio clips from Wednesday
Most of the action today was in the upper 900's with 963 972 and 981
putting in the best signals. I've heard better from all three this
season, so I can't really call it an enhancement. It's more a case of
that part of the dial being less bad than the rest.
Domestic skywave splatter seemed
Great job on the DX nuggets.. I like the roof loop...

If anything, it was a poorer morning for me. Had to work hard even
to find a decent signal on the NHK2 big guns, yet, there was audio
heard on 1206 also. It was almost like the skip was coming from
further afield, and the rocky spine of Vancouver Island was sucking
up the bulk of it before
KBND on peaks can be heard thru KFAB here tonight. I wonder if they were
