FM translators are popping up everywhere relaying AM stations. We have two in
the county (KSWB-840-Seaside) on 98.1 (250w ERP) as well as (KKOR-1230-Astoria)
on 106.3 also 250w ERP. There are two or three in Longview WA as well as
Aberdeen WA I can hear. They get out better than the AMs in many
15 watts, it looks like, so I guess there's no danger of it "replacing"

I'm very slowly going through my Perseus wav files from my DXpedition to
Masset in early January. Looks like KJNO may be moving to FM. At 16:00
UTC, there was an ID for 630 KJNO, "and now new on FM, 99.3", so wonder
whether the AM sender is on borrowed time. 73, Walt Salmaniw, Victoria,

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,

mA at 12 volts, after I inquired of Larry at W6LVL. So the loop would
easily run on a small 12V gelcell. I also inquired how robust the preamp
was for overload resistance from strong signals, and that question was,

Hi Bob,
Please let us know of you results, after you had more time to test it.
I'm interested in its performance below 2MHz. Would also be interested
in details about the amp, if they are available.
The price difference compared to the Wellbrooke, and Pixel, is substantial.

Just got mine, but have only had one opportunity to really test drive it. Very
promising. Good sensitivity in MW and good nulls even down in to the NDB band.

Chuck mentioned more modern Atom-based netbooks that can run Perseus captures
at full MW bandwidth successfully.
Presumably there's something out there in a small form factor (under 14 inch
screen) that can run full >= 1200 kHz width Elad captures also. Any info on
