A couple of things come to mind, I have trouble like that sometimes if the page
needs to be maximized or sometimes colour somehow gets set to black on black.
This I don't understand neither do I know if that can be adjusted.
Just a couple of suggestions.

for Windows, WordPerfect for ?DOS,
WordPerfect for CP/M and WordPerfect for Linux and I think even for the MAC.
There is an early version of Jaws for DOS and for various versions of
Windows but not for Linux.
Hopefully this clarifies.

My bet is that you are or have been working with a document with some sort
of style which has been saved and become part of the default template. Word
seems to do this all the time to people.

Victor, he is not on dial-up. He is on a DSL modem. While this does use the
telephone line it does not use the dial-up switch network.

I doubt you have more than one account or e-mail address and it wouldn't
matter if you did.
Is your computer directly plugged into the DSL modem then on to the
telephone line jack or do you connect through a wireless router or some
other type of router?

I am not expert but I have had my share of problems with reliable connection
