Sorry, I thought it was Outlook. I do know if in Outlook you are using Word
as your editor, your insert menu does not look the same. I do not know how
any of this works in Outlook Express.

[JAWS-Users] SPAM FIGHTER AND JAWS

2007-05-24 Thread Ricque

I downloaded and installed the fore-mentioned, and was not impressed.
The install was typical, but the user interface leaves much to be desired.
On the system I tested it on, the Jaws cursor had to be used for the entire
configuration process, and that was a stretch.
When I opened Outlook Express, then the program really showed it's true
colors,
stealing resources from Jaws.
It might be a good program, with respect to what it does for spam,
but I don't like a program that requires the Jaws cursor as the only way of
navigation,
not to mention being a resource hog.
I don't want to discourage others from trying it, as it may react
differently on their systems,
but it just doesn't appear to be a Jaws-friendly program.

[JAWS-Users] Re: Jaws find command not reading properly

2007-05-24 Thread Negoslav Sabev
What programs you used when you noticed this problem? Did you try say word in
context command insert+c? This is very usable command for text editors and not
only. I think this will help you avoid constantly reentering the find dialogue.
Inn IE just press f3 and you're on the next place where your search string ccan
be found.
Hope this helps.
Negoslav

Original message:

Hi list,

I have noticed something with the Jaws find command (control F) with Jaws 8.0.
Usually when I search for a word, phrase or numeral etc, Jaws would read
the sentence in which the found occurrence of the search string is found. This
lets you know, if that occurrence of the search string, is the one you want.
If it isn't, then you just press spacebar and jaws takes you to the next one
and once again reads the sentence, in which the search string is contained.
However, I notice now, that when I do a search, Jaws just reads my search
string. I have to select cancel, in order to read the sentence. I then have to
go back into the search dialogue box to repeat the search. This only seems to
have started today. Has anyone else experienced this? More importantly, how
do you correct it? Like I said, I am using Jaws 8.0 and Windows XP home.

thanks Jason

[JAWS-Users] Graphics labeling

2007-05-24 Thread William Stephan

All:

I work for Department of the Army, and we have a new program for accessing
forms. When the program loads, all Jaws reads is graphic 277 graphic 640 etc.

If I run the automatic graphics labeler (control+insert+g), the program is kind
o, sort o, accessible.

I actually have to run the labeler when the program first loads, and before I
can pick a form to open.

This process takes several minutes, and I have to run it each time I open the
program.

The program resides on an applications hence read only network drive.

Is there a way to save the graphic labels so I don't have to keep running the
labeler?

Thanks.

2007-05-24 Thread Lenny McHugh

Hi David,
I do agree with the sighted assistance. I had to do that on a few occasions.
Now for something to try. Bill stated that the automatic graphic labeling
helps however the labels are not saved. I wonder if he first used the
automatic feature then when they are named tab through each of them and use
insert g to go through the procedure to make it permanent. I have been
looking for something to test this theory.

[JAWS-Users] Re: opening up attachments

2007-05-24 Thread Flor Lynch

It usually means you don't have a program that knows the file type, or that
your Windows doesn't know what to do (what program to associate with) that
file-type. . What's the filename, (including the three-letter suffix), of
the attachment? Knowing that will help determine what the file actually is
and what corresponding program could be expected to open it in Windows.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Accessible chess game

Hi guys,

There is an accessible chess game called WinBoard.exe that is available from
the Freedom Scientific website, since yesterday I have been trying to
download it but I keep on getting errors. My question is does anyone know
where else I can try to download the game from or perhaps has another
accessible chess game.

kind regards
Khan
