you should be able to set up a hotkey for jaws even while its running, have never heard that you couldn't and i've been using jaws since 2.0 when it came on four floppy disks and the fifth one was the authorization disk. all you have to do is locate the shortcut link on your desktop and press

Hi Liz, I have been successfully using JAWS 8.0.20 with vista. I can only imagine that JAWS 9 will work even better when I install it. Vista is laid out differently than XP but when you get the hang of it, it is just as good as XP ever was. I hope this helps. God bless, Mark God loves

Yes, some companies are still building computers with Windows-XP on them, but they are becoming farther and fewer in between., and most places such as Best Buy do not have them on the shelf. You have to custom order the computer. Dell is one of the companies who still installs Windows-XP, but

The only time you can't set a hot key for something on the desk top is when that key is already in use by another program. So she should check her previous version of jaws and see what the hot key is for it and if set. Then she can either remove it or change it . So the new version can use that
