Hi,
Let me chime in here to say that yes, you may need assistance (and not
necessarily sighted assistance) but not because you can't see.
In other words a totally blind person can do complete XP installs, I've done

I've installed XP manually several times. The only thing you may need
sighted assistance on for the first few times is the entry of the product
key. Once you've done that it should be pretty straightforward once you've
memorized the keystrokes.

Ar, Vista would be slightly easier then as the product key is only required
if you wish to commit to the licence and thus activate the product. When you
install Vista without a product key it will run as a 30 day, fully
functional trial.

Hi,
The product key too can be included in your answer file for the unattended
setup.
Googling unattendeded xp setup will bring you to a tool in the Deployment
Kit which will walk you through building an answer file for any of several
flavors of Windows and you feed it all your info.

There may be a better way to do this, but try the following:
1. Select the entire page where the article appears by hitting control A:
2. Open word;
3. Paste what you have saved into word;
4. save that file and give it a name;
5. scroll through the page you have saved until you find the article

Running a computer without a cooling fan is asking for trouble. If it can't
stay cool, the components will overheat and the computer will be nothing

It can fry it. There are two fans: The PC fan, and the motherboard fan.
The computer tries to save itself, but there is only so much it can do. The
PC fan can be fixed (by a replacement fan) fairly easily. When the
motherboard fan goes, so does the motherboard; and that all takes longer and
A replacement fan doesn't cost too much, and only a day or so's loss of work

Hi,
If you are into fixing things, many of these fans just need a drop of

plug covering the former. Removing the plug, oiling appropriately and

And if I might add... If you are going to oil the fan, as I have also done,
use something like 3 in 1 oil. Do not use WD40. WD40 breaks down and
evaporates in a very short time. 3 in 1 oil does not break down and will
last a very long time.

Those fans are there for a reason. They help to keep the computer cool. If

Usually you will have to change the power supply. Although the fan can be

About a hundred bucks.
