Hi Kimsan,
Yes, you can control much of what is spoken on a web page.
While in Internet Explorer, open the Jaws configuration manager.
Go to the, Set Options, menu and select HTML options.
In this multi-page dialogue you will have the following pages:

So how does a person go about finding out if somebody is trying to add them in

information is located on the screen. I know how to add

Presently I'm using an older version of skype [3.8] but I believe it
will still work the same.

You would usually get a dialogue box where you have to accept it,
alternatively, just remove the contact from your list with
Thank you although you miss understood my question. I can't find that dialog

notice of request for contacts.

Wish I knew, I haven't ever had that happen here. Sorry I can't be of more
help.
Only thing I could guess about is possibly your firewall settings? Do you
have somekind of software firewall on your systems? It's possible it could
be blocking tandem there. Just a guess though.

The only reason it would time out is if the target system is using a demo

I agree with Rick here in that the connection is timing out, possibly
due to a misconfiguration in the software firewall if he has one. Rather
than the actual Tandem session timing out.

Check the firewall settings on both, because if using the standard
windows firewall it does create exceptions for them. But not for
third party firewalls.
In the tandom list are some quick start guides. A look in there may

Hello David,
If you're just hearing a sound, then it may be that the person hasn't
yet tried to add you, but just calls you and if you're on a different
call at that stage, it wouldn't have the ordinary ringing tone, but just
a regular blieb sound.
You can add or reject such call via the menus,
