Hello and welcome to the JAWS Users list. This list has been created for The
purpose of discussing all aspects of the JAWS for Windows screen reader
Program.
So everything that pertains to JAWS is fair game. Such as asking about what
software packages work well with JAWS or how to make them
Thanks for the heads up. Wondering if this is worth doing if
one is using JAWS 12 Beta and going to that upon release?

Hello, I'm about to purchase a net book, and want to install the complete

Folks, I have another weird activation question. I have a laptop using
JAWS 9 and a dongle for activation. When used with a docking station the
dongle is recognized and one gets full functionality. If one takes the
laptop of the docking station and puts in the dongle I only get forty
minute mode.
I am very concerned on this as I have 51 dongle's in use and this is
going to be very problematic for us.
Thank you for this.

Good afternoon,
Is there a mailing list for Skype users? I belong to a prayer group using
Skype and they all told me that I was in and out where they could not hear
me and they could not hear the song that I played.
First of all, I got a new external mic, I was using the mic on my laptop.
My student is working with some DOS programs and windows XP. Will
JAWS11 be enough DOS? Would it help for him to load the old JAWS for DOS?
When I have used DOS from windows, as I recall you read with the JAWS
cursor, then enter on the command line? Yes??? No???
Thanks,
Ann

Hello Ann,
Yes Jaws 11 will do just fine.
What program does your student have to use MSdos for ?
I use MSdos almost every day for one thing or another. If I can help your
student with some MSdos, such as batch files or piping commands just ask and I
will try.
Thanks,

Ann,
I don't think, or I would be quite surprised if, your student can actually
run real Dos programs from Windows XP. There are sites which give you
suggestions on what you may need to do to XP to enable some programs to run.
From what I understand, though, programs which are 16-bit based

Hi, if you mean Verizon with a letter Z instead of an S grin, , yes, it
does, or it did as of September 12 when my address changed from Verizon to
Frontier due to Verizon in my state being sold to Frontier.
You'll need to configure OE or outlook. You can find the info under the

Yes, I use a Verizon email account. It is very basic in the fact it does
not support communicating to your email client with IMAP or use secure email

I used to use Verizon
as my Internet Provider and when my Internet was working, I had no problems
running Outlook Express. I hope you don't run into the same problems in
your area with Verizon as we did in our area. Take care.
