Hi David Glenn;
Just so others are not confused, this keystroke only works with Jaws11 12.
In earlier versions of Jaws, this keystroke works as a toggle to turn the
home row utility mode on / off. Take care.

Hi,
I am still fairly new to the world of JAWS. I have JAWS 12 and Windows XP and
using Office 2003. I would like to know if it is possible to get the calendar
to read out the actual day too. As at present when looking through my calendar
I have no idea what day of the week the 1st of March
JAWS works well with Firefox, there are plenty keyboard commands, and
there are only a few commands different for it than IE, like alt-b for
Bookmarks (instead of Favorites). Flash is more of a problem in Firefox,
where it's not as accessible, than it is in IE. I think most users find
that to
Thanks Mike, that's good information.

It is a calendar type program.
Perhaps some on this list are using it, as I sent it around to many folks
once.
If you want it let me

Thanks very much for that. But sadly I work for the government and they have
very tight restrictions on what software we can place on our machines. So it
is Outlook 2003 or nothing :( Are there any scripts that might help?

I use both Internet Explorer and FireFox and find them to be pretty
similar in accessibility.
Webvisum is mainly just used for solving CAPTCHAs and isn't required for a
screen reader to work with FireFox. You no longer need an invite to get a
webvisum plugin. You can just sign up and get
You can't send that around since it is not free ware at all I am sorry to be

You can try firefox, it also asks to install things as needed to the web page.
have you tried updating flash, because they come out about every 3 or
4 months with updates.
Also you can turn it off for the pages you view with insert+ shift +
v. Just arrow to flash content and turn it off, or you
The reason jaws fails you there, is because jaws has a nice bug when
in some programs windows. The insert + f11 works, and arrowing to
item works. It is when you hit enter on a choose you get the menu for
task try or nothing.
To keep that from happening. Just minimize all windows and do insert
Flash is handled a lot better with JAWS 12. It still usually doesn't
read the button labels, but it does at least let you know that they are
there, and that shortcoming is more the responsibility of the site
developer than FS.
As for installing Flash updates, I have read that folks have trouble
Sad, I used to love firefox, until it started freezing and crashing on every
single page. I update everytime it asks me too, but it just freezes all the
time. Lasat year, it didn't do this:-)

Gee! I haven't found that to be the case. In fact, the reason I
started using Firefox in the first place was because I needed to go to a
page that would crash my computer when I tried to access it with IE 8,
and it worked just fine with Firefox.
