I had the same issue using Outlook 2010. It was a jaws issue. Try using CTRL
+ Y then arrow down the list to find your folder. You can also you first
letter navigation on this list. After you find the folder you want hit
enter and you will be on the emails in the folder.

jaws is alt+tab until there is jaws speech again. would this be something with

Yup. Nvda and narrator work fine. It's a jaws specific issue exclusive to
win10. So, balloon alerts from the notifications area do not speak as well
as from any other apps like anti-virus, twitter clients etc. surprised fs
failed to pick this up.
