Good question! I was viewing playlists before the update, so my view comes
up in music playlists. Do not see where that option is if you aren't already
there :(

Try control-T to open a new window. You might want to change your taskbar
settings to show all windows- sounds like yours is set to show only 1
instance of a running app.

Hmm, thanks for the tip. I'll most likely wait to get it from Bard since the
two sound card method, although intriguing and probably very effective, is a
bit more labor intensive than I wanted. Lol! Thanks for the suggestions.

Unfortunately, I do not have NVDA here, although I'm tempted to acquire and
learn how to use it for just these situations.
At the same time, though, I have to be honest. Given the money we have to
pay FS for the Jaws screen reading software, it does not seem as though we

I quickly launched that other screen reader and did some navigation and yes,
it's more responsive but the shark is my main squeeze.
I, for the short time I spent on it using the other screen reader had a
pleasant experience.
Now I will turn jaws back on lol.

Yes, it will. But if you have a site you just need to stop it on, it works.
Just turn it back on when you're done with that annoying site.

Just to satisfy my curiosity. Do either of you have NVDA? If yes, have you
try loading it to see if it would read better?
My reason for asking, sometimes while using I E, with win7 pro with JAWS 15,
it would not say anything, but when I load NVDA it would read. Sometimes
JAWS would start to
will that then also stop things that you want such as some youtube videos?

Hi, I have the 2 sound card arrangement as well and it comes in handy with
YouTube employing 2 sets of speakers with individual volume controls.
As a point of information Kimber, if you are a BARD member, they have added
Rolling Stone to their magazine offerings assuming waiting for the
The only way that I got around that was to add a second sound card to my
system. I have jaws sent to one dedicated sound card andeverything else to
the second. I normally keep the sound on the second one way down.

Not sure, but try this if using IE. Go to Tools, Advanced Options,
MultiMedia, and unselect Play Sounds in Web Pages. It will require a restart
of IE to take effect. Hope this heps.

Hi All,
I was attempting to read an interview on the Rolling Stone web site,
but almost as soon as I open the site, some really loud and very
annoying vvideo starts playing and I can't figure out how to turn it
off. The problem is the video is so loud that I can't hear jaws to

If you do not have OpenBook and, like me, are not crazy about using JAWS OCR
feature there is a good alternative when reading PDFs.
Microsoft Word 2016 now has an OCR feature built-in and will read PDF files
very nicely.
Highlight the PDF then using the Applications key select "Open with" and

I haven't used win 7 in centries but using my method would still work.
1. start menu
2. in the search box type jaws
3. Locate the result that says utilities jaws *** the asterix would mean
the version number for example, utilities jaws 17. Then press enter.
4. Press "e" without the quotes
I experience the same as it relates to the computer being unusable.
Now why in the world did I jump on 2016. Oh, it was free for a limited
offer! lol
I will go turn off the panes and see if the pain will subside. lol

Well, I would suggest that if increasing numbers of us are having this
issue, FS should be contacted by all those affected.
So far, when I have raised this issue with them, they have given me the
impression that this is something totally new to them, and that a solution
is not readily available.
I have no solution but another testimony of having the same issue.
I am using Windows 7 Pro, JAWS 17, MAGic 13 and Office 365 downloaded.
It seems on occasion that JAWS pauses for 5 to 10 seconds to think something
over right in the middle of an Outlook operation, usually reading an email but
I turned off both the preview pane and the reading pane when first
configuring Outlook, and this has not helped the typing sluggishness issue
with Outlook 2016, at least so far as I can tell.

Hi All,
Running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit & Jaws 16. After uninstalling CCleaner Speak
Dropbox quit using the Jaws voice to tell me that Dropbox is connecting & is

Hi,
You may want to turn off the preview pane and reading pane as well.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards,
