You can also buy the decTalk USb or the tripple talk u s b wich
simulate dubble talk. Its more compatible and there are windows8
drivers for those wich I asume will work with ten.

The last few times I've installed Dectalk Express, I've needed to install no
related software. There is no Dectalk software on my Win 7 machine

There are USB-to-Serial dongles that are pretty reasonable in price. Then
JAWS will recognize the hardware using a serial port number. I have my

-Users] Hardware decTalk -- is it still usable?
Hi All,
I was cleaning out my office the other day (they are giving us new carpet at
work), and I found an old hardware DecTalk with a serial connector. Now
aside from the connector issue, is the hardware DecTalk even supported
anymore by Jaws? If so
No.

No difference. Just Google serial to USB adapter. Any brand should do. I
think the two I have are Prolific.

Hi All,
I was cleaning out my office the other day
Yes, it is still supported.
You will need a good Usb-to-serial converter.

I have given up running my DecTalk Express with Jaws 17, it did work OK with
Jaws 16. You need a serial port adapter, about $10. Tom
