Try this and see if anything comes up. Go to start menu, run and type mrt, hit enter. You might have a page in front and jaws not seeing it, but a spy ware detector might. Then again you may have a tool bar connected to the browser and its throwing you a search window. At 11:46 PM

Ah, that's what I suspected. Users on this and other lists have reported that IE 9 does not work well with JAWS 12. You might want to consider rolling back to IE 8 until the glitches are worked out of IE 9. Update Checker should work fine with JAWS 12 and IE 8. Gerald - Original
