Try alt d instead of control d.

Hi All,
When I am using IE type in a URL, I only have to type, www.jaws-users.com,
but, when I am running Firefox, I have to type, http://www.jaws-users.com.
Can anyone tell me if there is something I can check or uncheck in Firefox
that will put in the http:// for me automatically like IE
Hi listers,
I'm using a laptop with Vista and Jaws 12, the initial release. I've recently
encountered a problem that may not be a focus issue at all, but I don't know
what else to call it. When I route the PC cursor to the Jaws cursor and do a
left mouse click, I get tossed out of my location
In both browsers I use a shortcut. Just type in the jaws-users
portion of the address (without the quotes) and hit Control + Enter.
This will prefix the necessary http://www.; and append the .com
portions of the address. This however, only works with ,.com addresses.

Hi Don,
Thank you very much for this very helpful information. I figured out what I
was doing wrong. I was pressing,Control + O, for webpages, instead of,
Control + L. For those who might not know what I am talking about. In
Internett Explorer when you want to open a new webpage you invoke
You may have set the JAWS Cursor to follow the PC cursor. To change
that, so that you get the default, JAWS Cursor not to follow, pres
ctrl+insert+NumpadMinus twice quickly. press this again if it is not
toggled the first time. .

Thank you, Flor,
You solved the left mouse click problem. Here's a curious hing though. I had
both IE and Firefox open. For no particular reason, I went to IE to try to
pay the tax bill. I followed your suggestion, but IE threw me into Firefox.
I then tried to pay the tax bilkl through FF,
Is there a way to prevent Jaws v12 from loosing focus when navigating out a
loaded file in GoldWave? What happens is if I alt tab away from the file to
check email and then return to the GoldWave file, GoldWave shows the control
panel and not back to the open file. This is troublesome because I
I just press F6 to get to the address bar to enter a new address. This
works in IE and Firefox.

that is only an apparent problem, because you altered the cursors in
mid-quest. It is confusing, like many other things to do with JAWS
settings; but the way to resolve it is to set and forget the cursors so
that JAWS Cursor WILL NOT FOLOW the PC Cursor, and leave well enough
alone until and
Don,
I once was briefly aware of that ctrl+enter keystroke and what it does,
bud had long forgotten. thanks for the reminder.

Yes, I never intentionally made the change, although obviously I did make
it. At least I will know what to do if it happens again. I stored your
message in my Jaws tips folder because I don't want to rely on my memory for
these things.

So as to attempt to get a better understanding of such matter, you might
want to look into the JAWSKey+r dialogue of types of cursor restriction
settings. JAWS works so well in most programs that hardly any
alterations are needed for normal oparations; at least I believe so.

No, my pc is brand new, or was, having this hassle since the first
moment I received it and experienced the symptom. That's why I
definitely don't want to defrag.
