Re: [JAWS-Users] Character by character reading?
hello; the only way I know to edit a contact in windows live mail is to; 1, bring up the contact list, ctrl+#3, 2, press the f3key=search, so type the recipient's name, now tab you should hear/see the name, 3, press the applications key, enter on edit button, 4, now use the keystroke alt+t now tab you should find the personal email address, note, all fields can be reviewed/edited. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of david Sent: Friday, January 23, 2015 7:00 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Character by character reading? hello Tom; you wrote; when in contacts, highlight the address, hit f2, and you can go letter by letter well, I'm not sure which email client your referring too, but, this does not work for outlook; for windows live mail; yes, you can edit with the f2key, however, this is, renaming a file, or, editing a file name, in a folder etc, not in the email client. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Tom Clary Sent: Thursday, January 22, 2015 4:26 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Character by character reading? when in contacts, highlight the address, hit f2, and you can go letter by letter On 1/22/15, Vicky Vaughan vrvaugha...@gmail.com wrote: Thank you Mike and Rob! If so, then you cannot do that on a character by character basis as far as I know. If it is the sender, you can click on Add Contact, and when the Add Contact wizard comes up, you can then read the address character by character, then when done, just cancel out the address. You can also copy the address out of the from, to, and Cc fields when it reads it really fast, and paste them into another document, i.e. Notepad, then read them character at a time. I hope this helps and is close to what you are talking about. Not only that, I would like to be able to make Jaws read each character as I arrow across them. Re: [JAWS-Users] [Bulk] Re: [EXTERNAL] Re: JAVA ACCESS Bridge
You can have all the confidence in what you're doing. But, that misses the point. UAC keeps others from installing malware and pups on your computer. That can be done by websites running code as well. Is it inconvenient? Sure is. But, not nearly as inconvenient as having to rebuild a hosed system. Another security precaution I'll bet most of you don't do is to run your main account as a non-administrative account. Again, for many of the same reasons as UAC. Just extra protection. Of course, you can ignore all this if doing a complete system reinstall really turns you on. Re: [JAWS-Users] windows 8.1 computer. I am going to have one givento me in two weeks.
Hi Not only installing JAWS would be difficult, but I assume you have to go through the Windows setup screens first. If there was a keyboard attached to the tablet, you could start Narrator to install JAWS by pressing WindowsKey+r for the run dialog and typing Narrator and pressing enter. I would have the JAWS installation file on a SD card or USB drive instead of downloading it onto the tablet. For the Windows setup screens for Windows 7, I saw that you could open the Ease of Access center at the first setup screen and Narrator would read the choices as you tabbed through the dialog. So if you tabbed to Narrator and press enter Narrator would be running for the whole setup. So hopefully, this would also work in Windows 8.1 for the setup screens. I think I used WindowsKey+u to open the Ease of Access Center for the Windows setup screens, but I'm not real sure. However, if there's no keyboard attached, I don't believe it could be done without sight. I saw some instructions for starting Narrator without a keyboard, but they required you to swipe in a particular spot and then touch a certain charm bar. You have to install an ILM key on the tablet. But you don't have to do that until you start JAWS after it is installed, so there would be speech. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Ferrin Sent: Friday, January 23, 2015 12:59 To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] windows 8.1 computer. But, not nearly as inconvenient as having to rebuild a hosed system. Another security precaution I'll bet most of you don't do is to run your main account as a non-administrative account. WindowsKey+I would have the JAWS installation file on a SD card or USB drive instead of downloading it onto the tablet. So now when I place an order with Amazon using Firefox 29 with the accessible site, I call customer support as soon as I receive my email order confirmation to have them adjust my order to apply free shipping instead of the default standard shipping. One first using the desk top I have put the programs on it that I use all the time. Two I have put the most important ones on the task bar and use windows 1 up to windows 9 to get the ones and I put them in order of importants this makes it easy. I always have email in one and getting my documents there was hard but it is in two and then in three is Firefox and on and on. I love that I can open them in anywhere I am so in email I can open new word document or go anywhere else and go back by hitting email one again or use alt tab. I put on desk top things that are only used less often. I find that tab or shift tab is very helpful in some areas. If you have any questions ask for information and I will try to answer. Hi Vicky, I, think I folow you. Are you wanting to read the address in the To, Cc, and BCc fields, or the senders address? If so, then you cannot do that on a character by character basis as far as I know. If it is the sender, you can click on Add Contact, and when the Add Contact wizard comes up, you can then read the address character by character, then when done, just cancel out the address. You can also copy the address out of the from, to, and Cc fields when it reads it really fast, and paste them into another document, i.e. Notepad, then read them character at a time. I hope this helps and is close to what you are talking about. is this on their full site or their accessibility site? I can do both all these areas you mentioned. In fact, last week I had to do a return, it took a little doing to get the RA printed out, but I wasn't experiencing the issues with Jaws in this case. The full site I was on for this transaction seemed to have all buttons labeled far as I could tell, otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to get the necessary info required to return the item for UPS pickup.
