hello;
the only way I know to edit a contact in windows live mail is to;

1, bring up the contact list, ctrl+#3,

2, press the f3key=search, so type the recipient's name,
now tab you should hear/see the name,

3, press the applications key, enter on edit button,

4, now use the keystroke alt+t
now tab you should find the personal email address,
note, all fields can be reviewed/edited.

hello Tom;

you wrote;

well, I'm not sure which email client your referring too, but, this does not
work for outlook; for windows live mail;
yes, you can edit with the f2key,
however, this is, renaming a file, or, editing a file name,
in a folder etc,
not in the email client.

 Hi Vicky,

I, think I folow you. Are you wanting to read the address in the To, Cc,
 and
BCc fields, or the senders address? If so, then you cannot do that on a
character by character basis as far as I know. If it is the sender, you
can
click on Add Contact, and when the Add Contact wizard comes up, you can
then read the address character by character, then when done, just cancel
out the address. You can also copy the address out of the from, to, and Cc
fields when it reads it really fast, and paste them into another document,
i.e. Notepad, then read them character at a time. I hope this helps and is
close to what you are talking about.

Hi List, I am using Windows Live Mail on a Windows 7 computer with Jaws
14.

When I bring up my list of email addresses, I can hear them fine enough to
pick out the one which I want to use, but in a forwarding situation, I
have
to be on the message list at the message to be forwarded, so I cannot read
the address again. Not only that, I would like to be able to make Jaws
read
each character as I arrow across them. It would really be awesome, if I
could copy it and just paste it in to the address field of the forwarded
 message!

 Can anyone help?

 Thank you very much! Vicky

 Are you using windows 7?
I am just wondering cause, window's contacts has several layers of
info pages for entrys on each person, and is saved on your computer.
Whenever I update an entry either via my email client, it's duplicated
 in Window's contacts

Window's Contacts can also be synced to other devices outside of Window's.

You can have all the confidence in what you're doing. But, that misses the
point.

UAC keeps others from installing malware and pups on your computer. That
can be done by websites running code as well.

Is it inconvenient? Sure is. But, not nearly as inconvenient as having to
rebuild a hosed system.

Another security precaution I'll bet most of you don't do is to run your
main account as a non-administrative account. Again, for many of the same
reasons as UAC. Just extra protection.

Of course, you can ignore all this if doing a complete system reinstall
really turns you on.

The Java Access Bridge is included in the Java installation, but you
must
activate it manually.
Go to the User Account control, windows-key+u and use the button Use

Close the UAC window, and probably you must restart your computer before

Hi first I do use windows 8.1.1 and I find two things that help me and yes I
use JAWS 16.

One first using the desk top I have put the programs on it that I use all the
time.

Two I have put the most important ones on the task bar and use windows 1 up to
windows 9 to get the ones and I put them in order of importants this makes it
easy.

I always have email in one and getting my documents there was hard but it is in
two and then in three is Firefox and on and on.

I love that I can open them in anywhere I am so in email I can open new word
document or go anywhere else and go back by hitting email one again or use alt
tab.

I put on desk top things that are only used less often.

I find that tab or shift tab is very helpful in some areas.

If you have any questions ask for information and I will try to answer. One
more thing that I use a lot is application key or on lap top computer shift

David,

You would do it with window's narrator. The other option is
to bring your tablet into your home network from your PC and
then copy the .exe file to the tablet and install from
there. I set mine all up without any sighted assistance

2015-01-23 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

Not only installing JAWS would be difficult, but I assume you have to go
through the Windows setup screens first. If there was a keyboard attached
to the tablet, you could start Narrator to install JAWS by pressing
WindowsKey+r for the run dialog and typing Narrator and pressing enter. I
would have the JAWS installation file on a SD card or USB drive instead of
downloading it onto the tablet. For the Windows setup screens for Windows
7, I saw that you could open the Ease of Access center at the first setup
screen and Narrator would read the choices as you tabbed through the dialog.
So if you tabbed to Narrator and press enter Narrator would be running for
the whole setup. So hopefully, this would also work in Windows 8.1 for the
setup screens. I think I used WindowsKey+u to open the Ease of Access
Center for the Windows setup screens, but I'm not real sure. However, if
there's no keyboard attached, I don't believe it could be done without
sight. I saw some instructions for starting Narrator without a keyboard, but
they required you to swipe in a particular spot and then touch a certain
charm bar. You have to install an ILM key on the tablet. But you don't
have to do that until you start JAWS after it is installed, so there would
be speech.

You can have all the confidence in what you're doing. But, that misses the
point.

UAC keeps others from installing malware and pups on your computer. That can
be done by websites running code as well.

Is it inconvenient? Sure is. But, not nearly as inconvenient as having to
rebuild a hosed system.

Another security precaution I'll bet most of you don't do is to run your main
account as a non-administrative account. Again, for many of the same reasons
as UAC. Just extra protection.

Of course, you can ignore all this if doing a complete system reinstall really
turns you on.

Arrow down to Table titles and press the spacebar to make your selection and

Now press Incert+space bar, then T for table layer.
Now you can read the table with only the arrow keys, when you press any other

You can also read tables with Control+ALT+ arrow keys, or tab through a table,
when tabbing you move left to right, to the end of

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Word tables: JAWS 16 Labeling/ Reading column headings

Hello,
In Word 2013 with JAWS 16 is there a way for the developer of the Word file to
add labels to the column headings in a table, so JAWS
reads the column heading when moving around from cell to cell within the table?
FYI: Keystroke I use to move around in tables is:
Control-alt and the arrow keys

If yes, how can I label the column headings correctly so JAWS reads them.

I would prefer these table settings to be set in the Word file if possible so
the Word file can be shared with other JAWS users so
they will have no problem reading and editing the tables.
Thank you,
Bill

I've never used a tablet, but if yours has a USB port, you've got it made.
Just grab the latest update from the FS site and stick it on a thumb drive. I
presume you can go online to activate.

David,

You would do it with window's narrator. The other option is to bring your
tablet into your home network from your PC and then copy the .exe file to the
tablet and install from there. I set mine all up without any sighted assistance

Hi

Not only installing JAWS would be difficult, but I assume
you have to go through the Windows setup screens first. If
there was a keyboard attached to the tablet, you could start
Narrator to install JAWS by pressing
WindowsKey+r for the run dialog and typing Narrator and
pressing enter.
WindowsKey+I
would have the JAWS installation file on a SD card or USB
drive instead of downloading it onto the tablet. For the
Windows setup screens for Windows 7, I saw that you could
open the Ease of Access center at the first setup screen and
Narrator would read the choices as you tabbed through the
dialog.
So if you tabbed to Narrator and press enter Narrator would
be running for the whole setup. So hopefully, this would
also work in Windows 8.1 for the setup screens. I think I
used WindowsKey+u to open the Ease of Access Center for the
Windows setup screens, but I'm not real sure. However, if
there's no keyboard attached, I don't believe it could be
done without sight. I saw some instructions for starting
Narrator without a keyboard, but they required you to swipe
in a particular spot and then touch a certain charm bar.
You have to install an ILM key on the tablet. But you don't
have to do that until you start JAWS after it is installed,
so there would be speech.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Word tables: JAWS 16 Labeling/ Reading column headings

2015-01-23 Thread randy.eddy
You have to have the word doc open and the cursor in the cell, of the row and
column, of the table you wish to have the row and Colum titles read.
Incert+V to open Quick settings.
Note: Tapping the space bar, will change the settings, in the quick setting
list and enter will save your settings.
Move down to Document-Specific Settings
Arrow down to Document-Specific Settings, make your selection, it must not be
set to off.
Arrow down to Table titles and press the spacebar to make your selection and
press enter.

Now press Incert+space bar, then T for table layer.
Now you can read the table with only the arrow keys, when you press any other
key you will come out of Table reading mode.
You can also read tables with Control+ALT+ arrow keys, or tab through a table,
when tabbing you move left to right, to the end of the row, then move to the
first cell in the next row.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Word tables: JAWS 16 Labeling/ Reading column headings

Hello,
In Word 2013 with JAWS 16 is there a way for the developer of the Word file to
add labels to the column headings in a table, so JAWS reads the column heading
when moving around from cell to cell within the table?
FYI: Keystroke I use to move around in tables is:
Control-alt and the arrow keys

If yes, how can I label the column headings correctly so JAWS reads them.

I would prefer these table settings to be set in the Word file if possible so
the Word file can be shared with other JAWS users so they will have no problem
reading and editing the tables.
Thank you,
Bill

Hi first I do use windows 8.1.1 and I find two things that help me and yes I
use JAWS 16.

One first using the desk top I have put the programs on it that I use all
the time.

Two I have put the most important ones on the task bar and use windows 1 up
to windows 9 to get the ones and I put them in order of importants this
makes it easy.

I always have email in one and getting my documents there was hard but it is
in two and then in three is Firefox and on and on.

I love that I can open them in anywhere I am so in email I can open new word
document or go anywhere else and go back by hitting email one again or use
alt tab.

I put on desk top things that are only used less often.

I find that tab or shift tab is very helpful in some areas.

If you have any questions ask for information and I will try to answer. One
more thing that I use a lot is application key or on lap top computer shift
f10. This is one of the areas you will find things to help you.

 Hi Vicky,

I, think I folow you. Are you wanting to read the address in the To, Cc,

character by character basis as far as I know.
I hope this helps and is
close to what you are talking about.

is this on their full site or their accessibility site?
I can do both all these areas you mentioned.
In fact, last week I had to do a return, it took a little doing to get the

The full site I was on for this transaction seemed to have all buttons
labeled far as I could tell, otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to get the
necessary info required to return the item for UPS pickup.

Maybe it's the difference in browsers as you mentioned you use IE 11, and I
am still on IE 10. But I haven't encountered these issues as several have
stated using both full and accessible Amazon site.

I can do both all these areas you mentioned.
In fact, last week I had to do a return, it took a little doing to get the
RA printed out, but I wasn't experiencing the issues with Jaws in this case.

But I haven't encountered these issues as several have
stated using both full and accessible Amazon site.

the Jaws cursor to left-click on them.

The other thing I wish Jaws would read correctly is the ratings page where
you can rate Amazon's service, or do product reviews. It won't read the
star selection for 1-star to five-star. If I'm writing a product review,
there is still a link to go to the old rating page, which does work. But,
if you interact with Amazon a lot, other ratings don't read correctly such
as rating a customer service or order clarification response.

I have given up trying to navigate the Amazon.com site using
IE. It seems to be easier to navigate using Firefox, but I
have discovered that when placing an order, there are no
longer any radio buttons on the page for selecting the
desired shipping option,so there is now no apparent way to
select free shipping, which is not the default (standard
shipping is the default, even if your order qualifies for
free shipping). So now when I place an order with Amazon
using Firefox 29 with the accessible site, I call customer
support as soon as I receive my email order confirmation to
have them adjust my order to apply free shipping instead of
the default standard shipping. This is a nuisance, but
fortunately, Amazon customer support is very helpful,
especially if you explain to the agent that you are a blind
customer who is having trouble with their accessible site.
Amazon is constantly tinkering with their site, much to the
 detriment of us blind customers.

I am just wondering cause, window's contacts has several layers of info

Whenever I update an entry either via my email client, it's duplicated in

Window's Contacts can also be synced to other devices outside of Window's.

With “Just Write Checks” you can go to the check writing function and just
type in the date, pay to, dollar amount and memo without entering any

track balances or accounts etc. Ibought preprinted checks with the bank
