pandora site playing when you go to it, I do not think so, you have to sign
in with your user name and password. The pandora site is not that easy to
navigate, well at least for me. It is usable but takes work if your looking

for a particualr artist if you have it saved in your favorites. Hope will
not not start playing from where you left off; it will automatically login
and show you your list of artist and you pick from it. good luck

Hi, I have the same system, Hope is easy to use. First, have you
installed the program; next create a user name and password, I had Pandora
on my phone so I used the same log in procedures and all my stations were
loaded into hope when I logged in. I have had the program for some time
now, so I do not remember the exact steps.
After doing this, you can use your tab key and go through the various
options, when you land on the search option hit enter and type in a
particular artist you would want to listen to and hit enter, you will
receive a list of artists or songs with that name; hit enter on the one you
want and it will be added to your list; continue to do this, I think there
is a limit of 100 artists.
When you want to listen to a particular artist, bring up hope and it should
automatically login, it will then show you your list of artist, you can down

arrow through your list until you find the one you want or tab until you hit

listen and hit enter or you can just hit enter on the artist you want.
You can also delete stations, rename them and several other options. I hope

these instructions make some sense, I also believe there is an about
option in the list of options in hope. great program and easy to navigate.
good luck

Hello, everyone.

You may remember that, last week, I posted a quiry to the list regarding an
increasingly sluggish Windows 7 desktop computer with Jaws, to the point
that it became unusable.

I originally thought the problem related to some sort of a virus I had
gotten, since it seemed that something in internet explorer was constantly
running.

I think that might have been part of the problem, but after taking the
computer to a local computer repair shop, it seems that the biggest problem
is with Outlook 2010.

I am not sure how he found this out, but the computer repair person
indicated that my Outlook data file is unbelievably huge! It contains
something like 10 gigs of material, and is constantly running, and trying to
refresh itself.

I access both my work and personal g-mail accounts via Outlook 2010, and am
very good at deleting e-mails that are no longer of use to me.

I also periodically check my all mail folder in my personal g-mail account
to be sure that deleted e-mails are not showing up in there.

I guess my question is this: Should I totally un-install Outlook 2010, and
re-install it again? Or, is there some way I can correct this issue with my
currrent version of Outlook 2010?

My University currently uses Office 365, which I know contains a version of
Outlook, so I'm wondering if that might be another way to go.

The computer tech at my local computer repair shop advises me to forget
outlook, and just access my personal g-mail via the g-mail web site, but I
have not had the greatest luck navigating that web site with Jaws 14. I'm
not sure if such an approach would work with my work e-mail account either.

Any wisdom that can be shed on this issue would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Major Outlook 2010 Problem

2015-05-19 Thread Flor Lynch

Hi,
I hope the following will work, if nothing else does.

Although I don't use Outlook, I'm thinking that your Outlook 2010 personal
account is re-loading all of your gmail including all email stored in your
gmail Trash folder from the Web, every time you freshly run Outlook 2010.

To delete all of those emails, you may need to turn off the basic HTML view
(if you have it turned on for viewing gmail on the Web) so that you're in
the Standard View; go into the Trash folder there; and select all, and
activate the Delete button, as many times as it takes to clear the cache.
You need to do the same thing, periodically; perhaps once a month or more.
(You can't do this task in the basic HTML view - preferred by
screen-readers.)

Hi, you didn't mention what OS you would be using or anything but windows
movie maker would be an option. It's not the best but it is free, fairly
easy and intuitive to use. From personal experience I find the one in
windows 8.1 some what better. You can drag and drop or import your photos
into the project, arrange and/or mix and match them, set the length of time
for each photo to stay in view, add enhancements, etc. Same with the audio,
or I believe you can actually use the movie maker itself to narrate the
audio directly after you have your slide show together the way you want it.

well, to change the send/receive in outlook 2010, is not the same steps as
outlook express.

Outlook 2010

To schedule Auto Send/Receive in Outlook 2010, click on the File tab then
Options.
alt+f=file,
t=options,

The Outlook Options window opens click on Advanced and scroll down to Send
and receive and click on the Send/Receive button.
so here you would use the tab key and enter on
send/receive button.
now tab you should find the setting.
the default is half hour.

hello there;
although I do understand your delemma however,
I don't think the problem of outlook sluggishness is to do with the size of
the data file.
I think perhaps the sluggishness has to do with what outlook ad-ins that are
running when outlook is running.
some of these ad-ins, can really make outlook run very slowly.

you can turn off the ad-ins, and see how your outlook performs.

refresh itself.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Major Outlook 2010 Problem

2015-05-19 Thread Cristóbal
I agree. I've got six email accounts running through my Outlook 2010. A
mixture of Exchange, Pop3 and imap with all sorts of PDF and other types of
attachments coming in and going out and don't have this type of
sluggishness. I will say though that in the past I have had to deal with a
slowed down Outlook and disabling this and that add-on did help things.

hello there;
although I do understand your delemma however, I don't think the problem of
outlook sluggishness is to do with the size of the data file.
I think perhaps the sluggishness has to do with what outlook ad-ins that are
running when outlook is running.
some of these ad-ins, can really make outlook run very slowly.

you can turn off the ad-ins, and see how your outlook performs.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Major Outlook 2010 Problem

2015-05-19 Thread david

In order to load Outlook without add-ins, you have to exit Outlook and type
the following command in a RUN window or in a Windows command prompt:

Outlook /safe:3

Please note that, while the above command will cause Outlook to load with no
add-ins, the add-ins are still going to be displayed in the Add-in Manager
window.

Any e-mail that I get with attachments is either deleted if not useful, or
saved on an external storage device.

This is what puzzles me so much.

Because I easily get several hundred e-mails a day either at work or via my
personal account, I try to be very good at managing things.

I think everything is being stored in a huge data file somewhere, and I'm
not sure where that might be.

Originally, I thought it was the all mail folder, but when something is
deleted, it is deleted from there as well, as least so far as I can tell.

Tom,

Here's what I recommend...and have done so with all my work-related email.

Rather than just deleting messages, I created annual or semi-annual personal
folder files (.PST) and archived off those date ranges to those files. Then
after creating and archiving them, I disconnected them from my Outlook
folders. This way, they are there if I need to go back, just by adding one
to my folders and using it, then removing it again. The database files
continue to reside on my hard drive, ready for access, but not being
constantly monitored by Outlook.

For archive files more than 3 years old, I moved them off to a separate hard
drive or even a data DVD media.

Takes a bit of time when you first start archiving them off, but Outlook
does run more quickly once you've done it.

Tom, someone with Outlook 10 might tell you how to get there, but in Outlook

My University currently uses Office 365, which I know contains a version of
Outlook, so I'm wondering if that might be another way to go.

The computer tech at my local computer repair shop advises me to forget
outlook, and just access my personal g-mail via the g-mail web site, but I
have not had the greatest luck navigating that web site with Jaws 14. I'm
not sure if such an approach would work with my work e-mail account either.

Any wisdom that can be shed on this issue would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Supposedly, one of the .PST files in my Outlook program is at least 10 gigs
in size, according to the computer tech guy in town here.

If you really don't think that's the issue, I'll certainly try to get rid of
the add-ins as you suggest.

Can you tell me how to accomplish that?

I'm going to be away from the ailing computer for a few days because I will

Re: [JAWS-Users] [Bulk] Major Outlook 2010 Problem

2015-05-19 Thread Dave Carlson

Tom,

In files/data management you can pull up a list of any PST files you are
using with Outlook. Then when you edit or modify the main PST file you
should have the capability to compact it. That should eliminate any excess
storage area that's being set aside for consumption -- possibly which you
have or will never use. If your PST file is set to accept 10 Gb of data but
only uses 1 Gb then you should compact it down to 2 Gb, perhaps.

Any e-mail that I get with attachments is either deleted if not useful, or

This is what puzzles me so much.

Because I easily get several hundred e-mails a day either at work or via my

I think everything is being stored in a huge data file somewhere, and I'm

My University currently uses Office 365, which I know contains a version of
Outlook, so I'm wondering if that might be another way to go.

The computer tech at my local computer repair shop advises me to forget
outlook, and just access my personal g-mail via the g-mail web site, but I
have not had the greatest luck navigating that web site with Jaws 14.
I'm not sure if such an approach would work with my work e-mail account
either.

Any wisdom that can be shed on this issue would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Tom,

Since you indicated that you are very good at deleting unwanted items, I'd
take a look at cleaning up your data files.
Remember that when you simply delete an item, it just goes into your deleted
folder. Check this first and if you have a huge number of items here, you
can permanently delete them.
Next, I'd take a look to see if your data files are being automatically
compressed. I'd go ahead and manually compress them.
A Google search for how to compress outlook 2010 data files has lots of
information on this topic.

I have no idea how to help him make the slide show production and add the

Any e-mail that I get with attachments is either deleted if not useful, or
saved on an external storage device.

Hi Tom,

I don't use Outlook and use GMail just sometimes; but, have you checked
your GMail trash folder? Your deleted gmails could all be in there, and
taking up a good deal of space. You'd therefore need to empty the Trash
folder first in GMail.

Tom,

Here's what I recommend...and have done so with all my work-related email.

Rather than just deleting messages, I created annual or semi-annual
personal
folder files (.PST) and archived off those date ranges to those files.
Then

after creating and archiving them, I disconnected them from my Outlook
folders. This way, they are there if I need to go back, just by adding one
to my folders and using it, then removing it again. The database files
continue to reside on my hard drive, ready for access, but not being
constantly monitored by Outlook.

For archive files more than 3 years old, I moved them off to a separate
hard

drive or even a data DVD media.

Takes a bit of time when you first start archiving them off, but Outlook
does run more quickly once you've done it.

To schedule Auto Send/Receive in Outlook 2010, click on the File tab then
Options.
alt+f=file,
t=options,

The Outlook Options window opens click on Advanced and scroll down to Send
and receive and click on the Send/Receive button.
so here you would use the tab key and enter on send/receive button.
now tab you should find the setting.
the default is half hour.
