Which JAWS version are you using? I experienced this problem (and worse) with JAWS 16 and early releases of 17, but not with IE, as I don't use IE. However, Adobe Reader (if I switched to another application while using it) and Microsoft Outlook were definite causes. The bug must have been found

I've had issues with Jaws hanging when loading IE11 on my Windows 7 box as well. It particularly happens if the page won't load. Jaws gets sluggish and non-responsive. I have to open a different screen reader in ordere to close IE in the process manager. - Original Message - From:

Hi Zoe, I'm reposting my previous reply - maybe you missed it. If the only window or tab which Internet Explorer has open is the Downloads window, then if you move to that button on the taskbar and press Shift + Enter, a new instance of internet explorer opens. For more info about the taskbar
