|Huh?
Debian's "reasons" for not allowing free/non-free software in their distros
ranks about 0.002 on my scale

People run redhat. People bitch. People switch to Debian. People bitch.
People join Debian. Debian maint

If we seperate the thirdparty, then this will be the case... though you MUST
have the required thirdparty versions at the correct version

People don't need licensing issues to bitch about debian.
Hell, even the developers bitch about the inane problems that occur.
Alot of this hardship stems from the fact that, in reality, Debian is a
political org

Yeah, it took quite a bit to write as well. I've spent quite a bit of time
today in email, not getting much real coding work done. :(
Ease up.
I at least am relying on Marc's assurances that his (or JBoss Group's)
lawyer checked out the licensing issues and we are ok. Issues with debian
licensing policies are, well, periferal. It's pretty easy to get jboss as
is, a debian packaging would be kind of nice but I don't see it as
t ever you want.

Sorry to bud in here, but I think this statement is a little harsh.
I think these licensing issues that Adam raises are very relevant to all
of the JBoss project! JBoss is licensed under LGPL, right? So does
JBoss include JAXP? If not, then it certainly shouldn't be part of the
source distri
Woah... this is a bit much for me to troll over at the moment... but here
are some comments based on a brief look.
First, I don't really care about the details of debian stuff. If you do
that is greate.
Sounds like we need to split up these non-free bits from the free bits. I
am all for tha
No wonder people bitch about Debian.
I vote we forget the DEB and just build an RMP, which Debian can install.
