Keep in mind that if most of the time is spent waiting (for I/O, network,
mutex) then using hotspot to look at CPU cycles will tell you nothing. You
want to check the "off-CPU profiling" checkbox in hotspot, and

I have some additional information.
After few months after deleting file ~/.config/QtProject.conf it grew up at
180MB and opening file dialogs begun to freeze again.
