I am not really able to do this I have downloaded the mainline kernel
packages and put them in a separate folder (within download folder).

No luck with touch screen. Same as before, the touchpad works but no
touchsreen. I posted apport info. Also got an error indicating headers
were missing b/c you only posted the single deb image. Not sure if that
has something to do with it.

I wrote a simple WMI driver for the laptop - but maybe GIGABYTE hotkey doesn't
use WMI at all?
You probably need to ask Gigabyte to share more information.

I did test upstream at v4.13-rcr4 as you suggested. Same complaints. I
tried v4.13-rcr4 "lowlatency" as well, same complaints.
What seems strange to me is that I don't think I was getting these
complaints under 16.04 LTS Desktop with Studio (ie
lowlatency)/LAMP/ZoneMinder
