referring to the permission denied when accessing subshares, this kernel
build ( 4.4.0-63 ) works fine.
I has to comment out the second share in /etc/fstab or set it to noauto.
I will work now with this kernel on my PC, hoping there is no other

The qemu fix is still necessary in order to resolve the issue.
While I do have access to the hardware, it is currently having issues
booting. Once we resolve the issue with IBM, I plan on testing out the
qemu fix from the PPA.

@djao, sorry for the slow response. I hit pc8 briefly, but that's with
most everything tuned, and running nothing. Lots of applications seem
to be pretty power hungry for me. That's going to have to get tackled
by each upstream project before we integrate solutions into the distro.
