I used the Rotec on my VW 2180 with a fuel pump and a pressure regulator. ?The
Revmaster carb never worked for me. ?Too many problems. The Rotec worked for
about 50 hours without any major problems once I got it dialed in.

I see this comment a lot. Is there a way KR builders reduce that pitch
sensitivity by bringing the cable attach points on the stick 30% closer
together or something?

thanks Dave. I think my KR willnot have an alternator. and on Ken Rand's
original if the cutaway drawing is correct, the starter is above the "shelf" on
the firewall. I may be good here to have the short nose!

Correction. Duh I just realized that's his belt driven magneto. I will research
the options to have a starter and a magneto and have the engine against the
firewall if possible.

Why not decrease the Elevator area ? This would increase the Stab
to Elev ratio.. Virg

I do believe the new tail airfoil that goes along with the AS5048 takes this
into account.?

My tailwheel instructor was very good. He had me make fast taxi runs up
and down the runway in his Citabria until the tailwheel rudder dance
clicked with me before we did takeoffs and landings. He knew what RPM
gave us the correct speed to get the tailwheel up, but to not go fast
enough to take
Very interesting they did an "exact copy" of the Ellison now per their
website. They say on the website there was no vapor lock issues with their
Mk1. I know of least two around here that has had it on more than one
occasion. Simply, the separate regulator did not benefit from the cooling of

Surprised nobody answered these yet.
1. Yes. You need to move the landing gear brackets from the rear of
the spar to the front. Glass work is not that bad to repair the holes.
2. Yes. Epoxy will dry faster when it is warmer, but you can use it
cold. A heat gun to thin it out on the glass

This is correct, and the installation instructions for the MkI indicate
that you should do this. On my installation, I have a one inch blast
tube pointed at the regulator,

That's really excellent that these carbs will continue to be available.
Although I don't normally use car gas in the plane, I have done so

Ethanol will eat up your fiberglass (epoxy) tanks also.
For gravity feed systems, make sure you check with engine

Maybe you solo from the back seat.

I've run about 5000 gallons of fuel through the Ellison EFS-3A carb on
N56ML (do the math on that...more than it cost to build the plane). I
figure about 1000 of it was with 10% ethanol, with the vast majority 93
octane from the Raceway down the street, and a little 100LL when I'm
flying
I probably should have mentioned that there's a lot more on this subject
