[lace] Mystery object

I think it looks like a very large pincushion that hangs on the wall near a sewing machine. It has rods for spools of thread and I bet the cup hooks are to hold things like scissors. I finally found the photo you were talking about by going to her photo album. Looks like she collects old

Please never photograph a receipt of this kind and post it where others can see the details. It probably contains identifying information that bad guys may use against you. Maybe that is why we cannot see the front? Maybe she removed some photos but neglected to remove this one?

Right, in the end I took a snap shot of the picture in my fb app on the ipad, then opened the picture up and enlarged portions of it on the ipad. I think we are looking at this sort of upside down. The cuphooks are either to hang it from something or to hang something off it. In which case

Recently a photo of a mystery object has been posted on The Lace Guild's Facebook page. It was suggested to the buyer that it might be a place pillow,   and could we confirm it.   I don't have a clue what it is, apart from not a lace pillow, but in the past when weird 'lace' items appear on

I looked at it, and I am a spinner.  I think it may be a spool/bobbin for a spinning wheel. Again, I don't think so , because the base is covered with felt so it's definitely an item that may be stood on a polished surface. And what would all the little holes be for? In the base they don't go

I agree that a thread holder is the best so far, but it just seems way too big. It has to be about 8 or 9 inches tall, so there is room for several spools on each wire and the holes are close to the edge of the discs, so the spools would be hanging out all round. Because of its size, and the
