Dear Dina, As far as I know only the sun and the moon are symbols between lots of animals and the human beeing itself. When we travelled Canada I bought a little booklet about this Indian Art with the title Looking at Indian Art of the Northwest Coast from Hilary Stewart. perhaps you could find

Dina, Here's another site about Haida art. Although other tribes have started making totem poles the Haida on the west coast of what is now British Columbia and Alaska were the first to do so. This site actually tells about design principles found in their art.

i don't know of any canadian totem poll symbols for earth, air, water, and fire, but if you want to use the keltic symbols for your totem poll, it would be: an eagle or bird for air, a bull for earth, a dolphin, fish, or water nymph for water, and a dragon for fire. i hope that helps even though
