miles north of here--and were prevalent. No one I knew had ever seen
black squirrels before. Now there are black squirrels where I
live--both black
I know Stanford has both black and ground squirrels, and they both seem to be
doing fine. The ground squirrels are much more numerous - in fact on average
there's at least one in sight wherever you are on campus. I'm not sure about
brown tree squirrels though.

We have a small number of black squirrels here in the northern suburbs of
Chicago, but they are not the dominant ones. They are generally smaller than
the ordinary grey squirrel and even smaller than the fox squirrels

Here in Ottawa (and presumably other parts of Ontario) we have more black
squirrels than any other colour. They are an absolute pest and destroy
gardens and plants and cause damage to houses. I have about 6-8 who tear
through my garden on a regular basis.
