Howard you git, ANYONE but them. WHY did you have to sell him to THEM???
Surely, the question should be; why sell him
The biggest mistake of his career and the reason that despite the promotion and
the title, he will never be a great in my eyes. He made the 11 year old Ian
cry, and the 30 year old Ian will never forgive him.

I notice that Huddersfield drew 1 - 1 with Bournemouth in their League One
playoff semi final first leg.
So with a win tomorrow Bournemouth would get to the play off final.
I also notice that Bournemouth finished a full 16 points behind Huddersfield in
the league.
Personally, I don't like
Love emI know we're not very good at them...but on what I've seen
so far can't help thinking we could have won this one.

Last season when we were desperately trying to cling on to automatic promotion
and in danger of finishing third, I thought they were a monstrous injustice.
Towards the end of this season when we didn't look like getting automatic
promotion but could have finished sixth, I thought they were
It's an americanisation of our national sport and, as such I am against them on
that principle. However, everyone knows them's the rules at the start of the
season and they do add extra spice to the tail end of the season, keeping
interest for teams who would otherwise be playing a number of
I think the current promotion/relegation setup is very good. However, any
expansion of the playoffs beyond the current number would adversely dilute the
league season. I also like that the relegated teams don't get some sort of
playoff lifeline at the end of their crappy/failed league season.
I hate the playoffs. They are unfair, and an example of the creeping
Americanization of football. The top three teams at the end of the season
should go up. It's as simple as that. Anything else is unfair.
Cheers!

As an attempt at extending the worth of games at the end of the season

I've grown to like them, despite our appalling record in them.
But I'd prefer to see a system that favours the teams that finished higher
during the season, like this:
Third placed team automatically qualifies for the Wembley final.
Sixth plays fifth, with fifth having home advantage.
What I want to know is how Torquay (who finished 7th in Div 4 on 68 pts) are in
the playoffs, whilst we (7th on 72) are not.

Cos there are 3 automatic promotion places in Div 4 and only 2 in Div 2?
