Actually Tim it's 41 years since they won a major trophy.
The Pardew appointment is a joke (even by Ashley's very hilarious
standards!) and I think a small wager on relegation is a must.

For all those looking forward to a weekend on the lash in Blackpool, I'd
wager a good few quid that that fixture will be on a Tuesday night in
January!!

Can't believe all the wailing and gnashing of teeth on this list - what did
everyone expect last night?!!
I divvied up my £31 to that KFC guy and saw the following from the Captain's
Corner:
First half: Lots of possession, effort and endeavour (apart from Snodgrass
who was a disgrace), but

Gents and BOTL's,
I am truly overwhelmed by the messages of condolence that have been
writen to this list ( and off list), and cards that I have received in
recent days. Rest assured every single one of them is very much
appreciated.

Surely, some Football League Fixturemeister will be having his gonads
removed for allowing Leeds fans loose in Blackpool during August - may as
well make a week of it and wreck the whole town!!
I thought that particular fixture was a compulsory freezing cold Tuesday
night in January.

I'm a serial part-timer these days so was pretty stunned by last nights
performance. Commitment all over the park for the full 90 minutes and some
nice football at times as well - brilliant.
They didn't look up for it in the monsoon conditions and what Moyes was
doing with his formation possibly
And their ground is two minutes walk from my house.
They must have had something of a big game last Saturday (don't know who
against) as there were cars every f*g where!
Used to go watch them occasionally as a kid in the 60's - in the days before
my dad would allow me to go to Leeds. Still
Prise Lambert away from his nightmare at Villa.
Despite his troubles there I still think he's an excellent manager - we're a
bigger club than Villa anyway!

Right man at the wrong time Rob - he should never have followed the Don.
He took over the best team in England and turned us in to relegation
material within 44 days. If Taylor had come with him I believe the outcome
would have been very very different.

Rog,
With Keith
I've actually been laughing out loud at some of the posts on this list over
the last few days.
Keep 'em coming boys because this is much more entertaining than what the
line-up against Millwall might be.

My first visit to SOTG this season; although Burnley look a decent enough
outfit, we had enough chances to win three games let alone one.
I would have Varney peeling f*g spuds for a week after his two misses in
the first half - the second one brought a decent save from the keeper but he

I used to have a bit of admiration for the Scousepool fans after the incredible

That soon wore off in the late 70's and 1980's though when all they did was

they had never managed to do

since the proverbial sliced loaf; I can't recall the Don changing our kit to
all red in reverence to the mighty Bayern Munich, although we did once play
in that kit against Derby.
