Hi,
I'm not sure it is a good or a bad thing that Leeds rarely seem to partake in
the over-hyped fiacso that is Deadline Day.
On one hand we are all aware of the requirement for certain improvements to the
squad. On the other we didn't lose anyone important.
It is all a bit crap anyway, as
I don't think the comparison is fair. Jimmy only ever played in the youth team.

Hi all,
My feelings over the Hull performance/result were conflicting regarding the
effect of the injuries.
On one hand I felt that the 6 missing players (Somma, McCormack, Norris, Green,
Drury, Bromby) would all generally get in the match day squad at least, when
fit, with the probable
I love the list me. After Saturday expectations were running high, now they are
just the opposite.
We've only had 2 games and we know that you afford to lose 10 in this league
and still go up.
2 weeks ago most of us on this list would have said that the squad/team is not
anywhere near good
Part of the reason I've been quiet is that I can only get access through work
mail. Anyway, here are a few observations about Saturday.
Was impressed with the defence. The difference was that the inevitability of
the opposition scoring just did not seem to be there like it has in the past.
I was just having a think about what I consider to be the best 11 Leeds could
field of all the players who've played since relegation from the Prem in 2004.
I'd also be interested in who I might have missed, and who anybody who has
watched Leeds much in the last 8 years would pick instead of my
All this talk of the takeover seems to have deflected attention on what is
going on with the team.
OK Leeds have signed 4 players, I'm not even sure who the 4 are, but all the
names I've heard hardly inspire me to think that a promotion side is being
built.
By all accounts last season, about
Pretty much agree with everything you say there Rich. Wasn't quite as worried
about Rachubka as you were, but perhaps it looks more frightening when you're
there.
Agree about Pugh, I'm assuming the idea is that he gives the midfield more
solidity than a winger would, but caan't remember
Rich, I'm amazed you didn't have at least one more observation :)
NO PACE in the team at all now that Gradel has gone. In fact the 4-3-3
(4-2-3-1, 4-5-1) or whatever it was disguised the fact that Gradel was the only
player with pace, as he was always a threat when the ball was played in behind
Well I’m completely underwhelmed by the transfer activity of today and the last
few days. Then to cap it all we lose last season’s player of the year and main
goal-scorer, on the final day of the window with no chance of signing a
replacement.
I think up to now we’ve been bloody lucky that
Hi, Just so that I can get the picture:
Was it really 4-4-2 or was McCormack playing the 'Howson' role - more like
4-2-3-1?
I guess with Nunez and Snodgrass always looking to come in onto their stronger
foot, it makes a 2-man centre midfield less exposed. Perhaps this is one of
the benefits
I'm sure someone can remember this better than me, but when we came out of
Administration with the non-agreed CVN, wasn't there a clause that all the
creditors would get a big payment if we got back to the Premier League in 5
years.
There were all sorts of schemes going on, but didn't all the
That is a bit like the Rugby Union play-offs were when originally brought in.
Strange thing was that the team who qualified for the final (nearly) always
lost it, as they were a bit rusty compared to the team who had to play a few
games to get there!!

Crikey,
Not read the list for a while, and return to hear this sad news.
Pete, I remember meeting you in Melbourne about 10 years ago. Christ is it
really that long?
Keep up the fight.
KLKOT.
PS. I think the Blue Mountains one was Pete Castlehouse. Both used to sign
