Click on the word Updates and you will be able to update. I had the same

Started up L8 on Vista again today. Still showing I had the latest build.
Had to go to legacy home page and do the download which asked me for my
email address and securtiy code before download would start. It also said
Users of L8 don't need to use this for the update as it can be automatic.
As Legacy seems to provide a system for both yDNA and mtDNA testing, is
something similar for atDNA in the works? Or perhaps a way for the user to
modify the existing DNA Records selection?
If not, is it because of programming issues (my sympathies) or perceived
lack of interest? Thanks

You can always click on the 'Updates heading to get the latest update
information and download from there, without going to the website.

showed up on my screen on my computer at home and I updated just fine

family file the window asking me to check for an update, as I hadn't
checked for 40 odd days, popped up and immediately worked as it should and
downloaded the new version.

I may be wrong on this, but if one was to set the “Legacy Home View” as the
default, then the check for update is run every time.
