Couldn't you create a tagged group of direct line
You can add spouses, children, parents on the export.

I agree totally with your last comment. I guess it is because the options which
Legacy chose to use for the Ancestor selections were made long before we linked
Y-DNA with male ancestor charts. It certainly needs to enter the modern era
*now*.

Not all programs support the use of Alternate Names as Legacy does. In
those programs you will usually see the effect you report. The last name
included in the GEDCOM replaces any earlier names.
Legacy contains a feature to avoid the problem you have. To keep Legacy
