Thought so.
Three of the programs I am reviewing include a common note field for a shared
event, with the note field displaying in each participants' events list.
A fourth program offers a separate note field for each event participant. That
note field is added when the participants of an
Yes thats it exactly. I use the Share Event extensively, as I did in TMG
but Legacy does not work quite as well in this regard.

Denise,
With a Shared Event, you don't have to go to each participant and find
the Event to add a note specific for them.
You can add a note from the Edit Role button. When on the screen where
you add the people you are sharing the event with, highlight the person
and click Edit Role and then add

So, you are commenting about a shared event, not copying and pasting an event
that Boyd mentions?
Yes, I note that selecting Share Event offers fields for a name and role, but
not a note specific for each participant of the event. To gain access to a note
field for each
Is this a new feature or fix in a recent update? Because in the past,
when I have chosen Edit Role nothing has happened! I am delighted! Thank
you Denise and Sue for making me go back and try again.

I think this was the single most important feature for mw - along with
coloured tags - when changing from TMG. I tried Family Historian, and
Gramps, but ended up with Legacy. Once a TMG user, its very hard to be
completely satisfied. User issue I am sure

Denise,
I also wondered what Sue meant.
In Legacy there are two different ways now to use the same event for
different people.
1) You can use the Event Clipboard and paste the event to other people.
Then you can edit it for that person. If you edit the original after
you've copied it to the
Thanks Cathy. You are definitely correct. From the list of individuals sharing
an event, select an individual and click Edit Role to display the dialog that
include the notes specific to that person. You can even select to include the
information in the sentence. I wonder what I missed doing
Susan,
How you work from three computers using cloud storage to go from one to
the other really depends on the speed of your internet whether to keep
the actual family file in the cloud or only the backups.
It also depends on you making sure whatever is in cloud storage has been
synced before you
I too have struggled with this (as a long time TMG user). The issue for
me is that when you do link individuals to the event you can't add
specific details to each individual without first closing down the main
individual and then going into each other one in turn to add the
detail. Drives me
Are folks perhaps overlooking the Event Clipboard function - see Help >
Event > Clipboard. This copy process takes its whole source with it from
person to person.

As someone who is ‘evaluating’ half a dozen different genealogy software to

Since I work from 3 computers, often I will pick one up and start working on my

information, depending on which backup I'm going to. My question is: how do I

Hello List,
I has been so long since I have searched for last modified dates that I
have forgotten how to do it. I need to find two people that have a
modified date before Nov 27 2015.
I appreciate it.
