Just for follow-up and information, the .LDB file is a temporary file created
with Legacy is opened and automatically deleted when Legacy is closed. Its
purpose is to make sure that only one person at a time can access and modify
the database. If Legacy were to crash without properly closing,

Make sure Legacy is not running. Using Windows / File Explorer, navigate to
wherever your family database file is normally stored. Look for a file that has
a .LDB extension and delete it.
For about a month now, every time I open up Legacy I get the message saying
Family File is in use. It says it appears that this family file was opened
by another user. I'm the only user. My hard drive failed a couple of

in search function, which will give a host of sources which should be visited.
