Just for follow-up and information, the .LDB file is a temporary file created with Legacy is opened and automatically deleted when Legacy is closed. Its purpose is to make sure that only one person at a time can access and modify the database. If Legacy were to crash without properly closing,

Or the locking file needs to be deleted manually. Probably copied over from the failed hard drive? Make sure Legacy is not running. Using Windows / File Explorer, navigate to wherever your family database file is normally stored. Look for a file that has a .LDB extension and delete it.

There is one more tool that I recommend Ian check out. Legacy has its own built in search function, which will give a host of sources which should be visited. It is relatively simple, although for one person at a time. Whoever is highlighted in your Family View will be the one searched. Simply
