I have appreciated the different ideas about what date to use for Census data in Events. And I have to agree with what John shared as that is what I do. I record the date the Enumerator was at the door. I have many instances of children and other family members being in 'two places at once'

Hi June, Interesting question and I'll bet there are others who did not enter dates. Most of the Census takers did not work in the winter months. I use Census for the Event, Then for the description I put in "1850 Federal" Then I put in the actual date located at the top of the Census Sheet

When I initially started entering census information through 'Events' I did not put the date of the census. I now have hundreds of entries I would like to put the dates on but it's taking ages doing them individually. Is there a way I can edit the event and put the date in so that it will apply
