Then STOP sending us more. Geezus people. they have made a mistake. they are
trying to help and constant griping about it is just adding traffic and
adding more mail. If you want it to stop then please stop freaking reply to
complain about it.

Michelle and company will get it fixed. haven't you ever made a mistake?
All e-mail programs have a filter feature. even the web based ones. Filter
the stuff to the trashcan until they get it resolved.

of them followed into the spam folder. When it was announced it wasn't spam
then I rerouted them to my Legacy List folder.

We have had to migrate our old mailing lists to a new server and software. As
part of that migration all users had to be resubscribed to the "New" List.
Everyone on the List will receive a welcome message.

The new list server and software requires a password for you to manage your
list subscription. A default password is included in your welcome message along
with the link to your new list account management page where you can select
list options.

2016-02-23 Thread BARTON LEWIS
Were these "welcome messages" sent as attachments to an email that had
no message in the body?  If so, that was a major blunder on Legacy's
part.  I never open an attachment that I don't know is coming,
especially if there is absolutely nothing in the body of the message
identifying what it is.

If there was a welcome message with text in the body, I never got it.

The vast majority of the emails I received when this started had various
subject lines, an attachment, and no message in the body.  That suggests
that it wasn't people "responding" to an email that was causing the
problem as has been previously stated.  If people were "responding" to
emails, they would have included a message.

In any case, it's a regrettable omission by Legacy to not provide some
kind of explanation to its many bewildered customers.

Mr. Bernier, not everyone is a PC guru; I have to delete from my pc and delete

sending a mountain of emails out. IT is a Legacy problem not a consumer

Consumers can always get a new email account however you will be out of

Not sure what you are talking about. If you delete an email from your email
account, it will delete the email from every device that is syncing to that
account. Totally unnecessary to delete from three devices individually.
Sending obscenities will get you reported to your ISP and result in the
termination of your email account - not a smart thing to do.

Couldn't do that Brian, the old servers were broken so no messages could

Mine started at 4:12 pm central time. I have not kept count just deleted them
other then the first one cause I seen it had a password on it.

It just seems strange cause I signed up for this list in Sept 2015 and had not
been getting any emails - figured that this was not an very active group.

I have also noticed that all the archives are gone also.

I will help also.

We have had to migrate our old mailing lists to a new server and software.
As part of that migration all users had to be resubscribed to the "New"
List. Everyone on the List will receive a welcome message.

The new list server and software requires a password for you to manage your
list subscription. A default password is included in your welcome message
along with the link to your new list account management page where you can
select list options.

2016-02-22 Thread Steve Hayes
On 22 Feb 2016 at 18:23, CE WOOD wrote:

> the Facebook page? Why do they assume we all use Facebook?! RIDICULOUS!

The problem is that if the mailing list is broken, they can't send mail to
everyone to say that they are moving to a new server, and the new server will
send a "welcome" message to all "new" subscribers first, so the explanation
has to come second, but by the time people receive it, they've already got a
couple of dozen messages from people asking why they';ve got the welcome
message.

If the old server is broken, you CAN'T send a message to everyone saying it
is being moved to a new server until it is moved to the new server.

And yes, I hate messages that are sent as attachments, but the way to avoid
that is to set your mail software to send as plain text and not as HTML
(sometimes called "rich text").

Sorry, I somehow left-off the first paragraph. However Brian has already

the instructions on how to get your password reminder sent to you. One note
though - you MUST use the email address you registered with originally or
this won't work. Below is what you will see when you go to the link I

To unsubscribe from Legacyusergroup, get a password reminder, or change your
subscription options enter your subscription email address:

TO EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS!!!

While most of us have simply been deleting all of the "bogus" messages we
have been receiving, there is a quick fix for getting your account setup
again the way you want it. Just go to the Legacy User Group List manager
webpage. Link is below:

.
http://legacyusers.com/mailman/listinfo/legacyusergroup_legacyusers.com

Once there, if you don't see the Log in with a box for your email in it,
click on the "Log in" button and enter only your email address and then
click on the Log in button again. You'll get an error message at the top of
the page but don't worry about it. Then, click on the Password Reminder
button that is down the page a ways. You will probably get another error
message but again, don't worry about it. A short while late you should see
your password reminder message in your email with your "NEW" password. Go
back to the Legacy User Group list webpage and then log in with the password
that was in your email. That will get you back to where you can then change
your password and adjust your list settings to whatever you want them to be.
Mine had not changed so it appears only the password was changed with the
move to the new server.

Good luck,

Don

Something is obviously not working. I have received 86 emails from 5:26

Hopefully, someone can resolve this soon. You are creating some unhappy

Let me know if I can help test something from this end for you.

TO EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS!!!

While most of us have simply been deleting all of the "bogus" messages we
have been receiving, there is a quick fix for getting your account setup
again the way you want it. Just go to the Legacy User Group List manager
webpage. Link is below:

*
http://legacyusers.com/mailman/listinfo/legacyusergroup_legacyusers.com

Good luck,

Don

I totally agree. A notice should have been sent to the list members and not
just the Facebook page which not everybody uses. I am very suspicious of
the type of email I first received because it had all the works of spam or a
virus with the way it was written and the password that had to be used. It
also came from somebody I never heard of. I guess they were trying to keep

I think it would have been better if they had sent all of us a private
message instead of to the list. With all of the spam messages to the list
recently why wouldn't we suspect this was just another one.

I'm going to try to unsubscribe from the old list.

Just make sure you give everybody 2 or 3 days notice ahead of time as to
what will be happening otherwise the list will be flooded with messages from
users wanting to know why they're being signed up on a new mailing list.

Brian,
I received that message and assumed it was spam so trashed and deleted the
thing. Bow you are telling me it was genuine and I need the password. Does
this mean I will not be able to access the emails in future?
