I use to keep config files for misc apps in a VCS. myLeoSettings.leo
landed there as well. In HOME, I have a symlink to the original
myLeoSettings.leo. leo sees the contents well, but if I open ~/
myLeoSettings.leo (the symlink, not the original file) and save it,
then leo overwrites the symlink
While we're at it: Each time after not having used rst3 for a while I
must remind myself that the entry Write restructured text is to be
found under Edit instead of File where I would expect it. Is it
just me?

Warning: changing the @language directive in an @shadow node can cause
quite a mess if you don't change the file's extension to match the new
language. Leo's @shadow code can get totally confused. I'm not sure
there is a solution that doesn't cause more complications.

Possible, I suppose, but I don't want to destroy the validity of
private files absent an overwhelmingly good reason. Private files
ought to be valid

I finally tracked down something that had been bothering me. Under
some circumstances the Del key inserted a '.' instead.
Duh! Numlock key was down. This happens most often after playing
with MS FltSimX. I don't recommend this program: it's addictive :-)

I got this .pth-stuff without the soft link working (AFAICT) on Ubuntu
8.04 like so:
I'd rather not add .pth files by default. In the new bzr world I'm
often working on several different branches at once.
