answering myself:
Looks like the font size is controlled by the attribute-set named
"book.titlepage.recto.style" which is defined in
{stylesheets}/fo/titlepage.xsl. If overwriting it using
bold
20pt
center
the lines on title page gets bigger. But unfortunatly all of them,
