File was originally created in OpenOffice (I think it was v2.x.x). Most of it's fields are financial data that use build-in conditional formatting for negative numbers (cells turn red when value goes below 0). For some reason after opening this spreadsheet in LibreOffice v4.x.x.x all cells are black and require editing of their value to change the colour. Because there are several sub-sheets in this file it is not an option for me and stops me from upgrading. Euhm ... yes, I'm really serious about that. But anyway, looking at Khaled's comment on IRC this night, and now your comment you both disagree with this. It's a pity developers don't see the critical part in all of this, but again ... this is probably 'me'. This bug is already reported a couple of times, but then I wasn't able to confirm it, except if you zoom in/out really hard, and even then it wasn't that big deal. Now I, and others, can confirm this _is_ reproducible (and no, in the mean time I didn't buy another Mac, so same platform), I am convinced this is now reproducible for all Mac users. Even on zoom level 100% I can reproduce this wiggling and it is highly annoying me that much I'm not going to upgrade until this is solved. This is _not_ reproducible using a 4.0.x version, thus a regression, that generally deserves a higher priority then others. And because I'm still convinced typing is a core feature of our Writer component, I'm marking this bug as such. No, it isn't broken as in 'borked', but I hope you can convince others to use LibreOffice Writer daily and see letters wiggle all time. I'm seeing this as a bug that result in quiting users and many more bug reports, not a bug that is going about 'my border of my proprietary extension file is to big, it shows like it is 0,4 but it has to be 0,45'... Due the fact I *highly* respect both of you, and other developers, I'll lower it to major, medium. Which I think is still to low, but yeah ... who am I in this prioritizing process nowadays? I'm aware of the fact Khaled is doing !great job!, and he told me already this is related to the 'Core Text'-changes. But I don't think we are working on it may reflect on the priority of things. I hope I didn't step on toes, if so: I am really sorry about that. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62176 --- Comment #9 from Markus Michels mar...@michels.cc --- Sorry for cross-referencing this again. It seems that the entire style management has a few issues that might be interconnected somehow in the background. Referring to bug 62175 where custom styles revert to default in some circumstances. This is very bad if one tries to reuse existing charts in another presentation because after saving and reopening your copied slides might be crippled. It would be good if these issues could be addressed all together with high priority and a fix be released very soon. In the attached example, the figure is too large to be placed at the end of the first page, so it is moved to the second page. This is OK, but the following paragraphs should fill the end of the first page so that there is no large white space in the document. This can be done manually by a copy/paste of these paragraphs, but each time the document is modified, the placement of figures should be checked and modified. The same happens when opening previously saved document with such content (doesn't matter in which format it was saved). It's a Windows-only bug, and not a recent one - I remember this happening back in early OOo 3.x days. After some research I've found that this happens only with fonts which don't contain the letter 'b' (LATIN SMALL LETTER B) (In fact they don't contain any Latin letters, because they're Hebrew-only fonts). So it's seems that LO have a check for that letter anywhere in the code. After adding that letter to the font (even an empty one), this bug goes away. You can add an empty character to a font using FontForge by selecting the letter 'b' and going through Metrics-Set Both Bearing. Unfortunately this can't be done with non-free fonts due to legal restrictions, making them unusable with LO. I'm attaching a test document + screenshot of the bug.
