These correspond to scoped_ptr and shared_ptr in C++. Hi I am an undergraduate student new to open source development and Libre Office and an intermediate knowledge of C++ (I applied for GSoC). I want to tackle this bug but have a few questions. I have not used shared_ptr, scoped_ptr or anything to do with reference counting before. - The example mentioned introduced the class ScopedHDC that deletes the object for you.Is this fix just for HDC objects? Or are there other gdi objects? I am not familiar with gdi. I see other objects such as HBITMAP, HBRUSH, HFONT that are all manually destroyed using DeleteObject(). - Is this fix asking for an alternative to ScopedHDC class using shared pointers or scoped pointers? - For shared_ptr, my understanding is that you could create a shared_ptr object using: std::shared_ptr hNewDC = std::make_shared( CreateCompatibleDC(hDC) ); then use it as you would a regular pointer without having to call DeleteDC(hNewDC) once your done. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116870] New: Table borders doesnt work as intended
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116870 Bug ID: 116870 Summary: Table borders doesnt work as intended Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: paj...@gmail.com Created attachment 141200 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=141200&action=edit table border misbehaving Maybe I just dont understand how it works I attach video of the problem to reproduce 1. make a 2x2 table 2. select the 4 cells 3. try every button of the border selection All the buttons modify all the borders, the inside borders too But not always all of them, as can be seen in the video attached To add insult to injury, the ui is not very intuitive. Should i open a different bug about this? Some ideas why I think is not good: - You cant tell which border or border style is currently selected - You have to click 4 times every time you want to modify a specific border - Theres a table properties menu from where you can modify borders too. Its the same as calc and its more intuitive. But it doesnt have preview! or apply button!. You have to select every cell, secondary menu, properties, modify everything and hope for the best. Since there is no preview button, and you did it wrong, you have repeat everything >From this menu it misbehaves the same as the tool buttons btw -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I recently tried to make usage of the tool in the context of LO a bit easier: 1) If your Linux system is too old to build IWYU, I've uploaded a static binary here: https://dev-www.libreoffice.org/bin/ 2) Also now there is a bin/find-unneeded-includes script in core.git that you can just run even on header files in e.g. sc/inc/*.hxx, for other modules where we have no idea yet what flags to use, see sc/IwyuFilter_sc.yaml for inspiration. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116867] New: Allow direct jump navigation between tabs/ sheets in Calc via a drop up list that could be access via a button located between the two tabs /sheets scrolling arrow
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116867 Bug ID: 116867 Summary: Allow direct jump navigation between tabs/sheets in Calc via a drop up list that could be access via a button located between the two tabs/sheets scrolling arrows Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: richard.le...@gmail.com When you open a spreadsheet in Calc with a high number of sheets (tabs) it can be cumbersome to navigate between them by using the scrolling arrows especially if they have long names and you need to jump back and force between sheets (tabs). Similarly to Firefox which has a drop down list of all opened tabs, I was wondering if the LO development team would consider this bug as a feature request (enhancement) of Design UI interface to add an additional UI widget in the Calc interface within the scrolling feature (already used for navigating forward or backward between sheets (tabs)) to allow direct jump/navigation between tabs. It could be set as a drop up list that could be available at a click of a button located between the two horizontal scrolling arrows prefixing the sheet list (tabs) something like: --- | Sheet3 | | Sheet2 | |v Sheet1 | --- ^ << < O > >> [Sheet1][Sheet2][Sheet3] Hope this rapid design layout make sense... The O is a button, located between the arrows, that show/hide(default) via onclick the drop up list of all sheets/tabs available in the spreadsheet. In the list that appears, the v simply indicate the current sheet selected Each sheet in the drop up list is a link allowing to directly jump to the sheet by clicking on it in the list... (the same way in Firefox you would access an open tab in its drop down list of tabs). As soon a sheet link is clicked it you jump to that sheet and the drop down menu would disappear. I know there is alternative way to navigate between sheets by pressing F5 and use the navigation panel but this is nor intuitive nor really eye candy. Maybe this drop up list of tabs feature and navigation panel could be merged into one feature or simply make the navigation panel appears as a drop up list located as design above... by pressing button available between the arrows. It could also be set as a side panel as well... to allow to always have it at hand and in visual. I hope you may consider such features within the on going work done on UI re-design for LO. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116866] Zoom animation of Callouts, PNG and GIF pictures breaks the presentation flow
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116866 --- Comment #1 from kivi --- I need to add some thing more. In the attached 7zip archive you can found the demo presentation Without_break_of_the_presentation_2-20180407.odp It works as expected, but the created from it by save as Without_break_of_the_presentation_2-20180407.ppt does not. There one of the callouts breaks the presentation flow by the Magnify animation. So I suspect this bug happens not only by zoom animation but also by the magnify and probably some other kind of animations. These had be made with LibreOffice 3.x.x and Microsoft Office Powerpoint. All of these on that time worked just fine. But now it is impossible to do the presentations as expected because presentation stops on some places and can not follow up as expected. The only way to get to the next slide is to stop presenting jump to the next slide and start again by Shift+F5. Unfortunately it happens several times and makes presenting of these presentations with LibreOffice Impress a shame for the presenters. After investigation I found that if some PNG or GIF pictures are set to use zoom animation it breaks the presentation flow. Same happens when some callout's are set to be zoomed by such animation. The problem exist with PPT presentation and also with ODP presentations. If some JPG pictures are set to be showed by a zoom animation it works perfectly. Unfortunately all LibreOffice 4.x.x may have same bug. I can not check it as I do not have so old software, but asked the guis who give me the presentations and they told me they had used them with LibreOffice 3.x.x Impress and Microsoft Office PowerPoint without any troubles. Also I have checked and can confirm that same bug is available with the last LibreOffice Version: 6.0.3.2 and LibreOffice Version: 5.4.6.2 Please see the attached here archive made by 7zip and you can see inside examples of demo presentations to see the problem by uour own. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116464] Illegible text in File->Open dialog
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116464 --- Comment #13 from Tom --- Created attachment 141196 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=141196&action=edit Fonts directory long listing I think I have found the root cause for the fonts problems reported earlier. I just installed LO 6.0.3.2 per DEB package as I usually do. After the installation, I typically run libreoffice as root in order to install extensions for all users. As root I also checked for the existence of the fonts issue and was surprised not to find any fonts problems. So, I checked as a normal user afterwards and was disappointed to find the fonts problem still exists. However, the different behavior of LO6 run as root and as normal user caused me to check the permissions in the directory /opt/libreoffice6.0/share/fonts/truetype. The results are listed in the new attachment. Long story short, unfortunately many permissions are incorrectly set. E.g. -rw-r- 1 root root 455164 Mar 29 23:16 NotoSans-Bold.ttf It is no surprise that an ordinary user encounters problems with the new Noto fonts, when an ordinary user does not have read access for these fonts. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111921] Support Paragraph Styles on the Text inside of Textboxes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111921 --- Comment #7 from Luke --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #4) > But why do we restrict the formatting in objects (we > do not talk about text box only but also shapes)? I have found that historically we have restricted text box functionality to match that of MSO. By limiting our functionality to those MSO provided at the time, we avoided conversion errors when exporting to their format. Over the years MSO text box functionality has evolved, while we have maintained many of the old limitations. Here is a chart showing how text frames(pre-2000) have evolved to text boxes(2000-2007) which evolved to shape textboxes (2010). http://www.addbalance.com/word/frames_textboxes.htm >From that chart and my own testing, both the OOXML and the binary MS-DOC format now support text boxes with styles. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103736 --- Comment #30 from Lionel Elie Mamane --- I mean, if you solve the bug at a deeper level and truly allow the process to handle spaces, then all the better. To do that, the right place is probably not the yacc/lex grammar per se. We need to find the code that gets the localised string chosen in the menu and maps it back to SQL keywords (which happen to resemble English). That's the point that needs to be fixed. Hopefully it just needs to treat the whole string gotten from the menu as an indivisible string instead of tokenizing it. To get started on that, look where the error is raised and go from there. If there is already Greek at that point, go back and find where that Greek is coming from. But failing that, at least the non-breaking space will solve this particular bug which is problematic for Greek users. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50507] zoom slider always looks like disabled, too little contrast ( OS X only)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50507 Heiko Tietze changed: What|Removed |Added Keywords|needsUXEval |difficultyInteresting, ||easyHack, skillCpp, topicUI CC|libreoffice-ux-advise@lists |tietze.he...@gmail.com |.freedesktop.org| --- Comment #9 from Heiko Tietze --- Yes, it is - and probably easy to hack. As the slider is completely self-drawn it will never fit into the system theme and look and feel. So we should go with just dark gray for the lines and black for the interactive elements (+/- "button" and thumb). Code pointer might be svx/source/stbctrls/zoomctrl.cxx This change will affect all platforms and should be verified carefully. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
