[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148758] New: Do not start enhanced-path with commands which require a current point
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148758 Bug ID: 148758 Summary: Do not start enhanced-path with commands which require a current point Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de Created attachment 179753 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=179753=edit File with the mentioned shapes The commands A (arcto) and W (clockwise-arcto) require a current point because they start with drawing a line from current point to start of arc. In case they are uses at start or after a N (endpath) command, there exist no current point and therefore the enhanced-path is faulty. Rendering of faulty enhanced-paths is undefined. Unfortunately there are preset shapes, for which LibreOffice produces such faulty enhanced-path. LibreOffice itself is error tolerant and does an implied moveto on rendering. But for interoperability we should not write faulty paths. Effected shapes are these shapes from binary MS Office import: EllipseRibbon, EllipseRibbon2, WedgeEllipseCallout, TextArchDownCurve, TextArchDownPour, TextArchUpCurve, TextArchUpPour, TextButtonCurve, TextButtonPour, TextCircleCurve, TextCirclePour. The faulty path can be simply avoided for new documents converted from binary MS Office by using B (arc) instead of A and V (clockwise-arc) instead of W. This can be changed in https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/svx/source/customshapes/EnhancedCustomShapeGeometry.cxx That is an easy-hack. More effort would be to change our preset shapes provided in the UI and to change import filter, so that existing documents are repaired, or to change export filter to write correct enhanced-paths. However, I would not do that until there is a specific complaint from a user. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148757 Bug ID: 148757 Summary: Cursor moves down when entering a dead key as the last character of a line inside a section (instead of composing) Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.2.6.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: i...@bloechligair.ch First many thanks for this wonderful piece of software! When working with a keyboard having dead keys (like US-International) inside a section, the cursor jumps down and leaves the symbol corresponding to the deadkey instead of composing the character. When the cursor is not at the end of the line, there is no problem. (So leaving a trailing space at the end and writing text before this space "solves" the problem.) How the reproduce: - New writer Document - Insert a new section - Add text inside section. - As soon as a composing character (like ¨) is entered, the cursor jumps down and leaves the ¨ character, instead of for example ü (wich is " followed by u). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148756] New: minor feature
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148756 Bug ID: 148756 Summary: minor feature Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.3.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: petesm...@gmail.com I'm a new user to LibreOffice and I watched a YouTube video on how to get started (using version 7.3.2). The video showed how to set default font to something that would be compatible with "other" office packages and also how to set the "document type" when Saving/Loading", this was done for the "Write" application when it was open. So, I get into "CALC Spreadsheet" app and I try to do the same for it, to save/load in "xlsx" format, and I could not figure it out for hours (yes, I know, Im DUMB!) Each time I opened +Save/Load, the "Document Type" was always "Text" and I just did not realize that "Document Type" with its "Text" value was just a default and there is a drop down menu to select "Spreadsheet"!!! So, my request to improve LibreOffice is" have the "Document Type" reflect the application that is open and being currently used, so I have Calc open and I go to the +Save/Load->General, it should by default show that its "Document Type" is Spreadsheet. If I have the Impress Presentation app open and use the Tools->Options->+Save/Load->General, its Document Type should be "Presentation" by default! The same for the other applications, Writer=Text, Calc=Spreadsheet, Presentation=Presentation, etc This would go a long way to make the product more intuitive. Of course, if you go to the Tools->Options->+Save/Load page directly from the main screen (without being in any of the applications, than the default can remain "Text" and if you're a knowledgeable user, you know to use the drop down menu to set its type and the how you want that document to be saved. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148755] New: A Quirk in the focusing property of the Navigator
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148755 Bug ID: 148755 Summary: A Quirk in the focusing property of the Navigator Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: adalbert.hans...@gmx.de End of June 2021 I first observed that the Navigator adjusts itself to the proper headline associated to the current editing position. The item belonging to the edit position in the Edit window gets highlighted. That's something which has long been missing and which is very useful. Now I found something inconsistent with that: If the edit position in the edit window is in a table, the highlight moves to the relevant entry in the Tables category, if it is in a section, the highlight jumps to the proper entry in the Sections category. When writing a larger document, the main hierarchy of things is by headline order. Being able to associate some place in the document to the surrounding headlines hierarchy is the main concern. Only in very special cases one might want to locate an image in the list of all images or a table in the list of all tables and so on. Locating something in another category than the one highlighted (Headings/Images/Sections/Table, ..., topmost drop-down setting of Navigator) is not meaningful, especially jumping to sections instead of headlines is bizarre. Sometimes I use tables because they make the location of inserted images more predictable than if I insert them into the text (e.g. anchored to paragraphs). If - as e.g. often in user manuals - many short text passages and corresponding illustrations follow one after another, it may even make sense to place headings in tables as well. If you do this, however, you lose the nice feature of the navigator that you can continuously see how a text is positioned in the hierarchy of associated headings: The navigator suddenly shows the position in the hierarchy of tables (or sections, if the text passage is in a section). Expected behavior: I expect the navigator to always show the location of the bookmark in the editing window with respect to the category selected in the navigator's drop-down list of categories at the top left (really useful there are headings, tables, maybe sections. For hyperlinks, I can only imagine that it might make sense to highlight the next hyperlink before the position of the bookmark in the editing window). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140635 --- Comment #31 from Karsten --- Sorry for the frustrated comment. The good news are that there is no delay any more for opening auto correction in the above version. Really annoying are bugs like https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147193 that render LO unusable for me. In newer versions there are bugs that cannot be described, like that the mouse cursor vanish for a certain time. The conditions are absolute not clear, so it makes no sense to open an bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 128150] FILEOPEN: Shape in master slide is white using useBgFill=1
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128150 --- Comment #7 from Gabor Kelemen (allotropia) --- (In reply to Xisco Faulí from comment #6) > it works fine if > > if (pBackgroundPropertiesPtr) > { > pShape->getFillProperties().assignUsed(*pBackgroundPropertiesPtr); > } > > is removed in oox/source/ppt/pptshapegroupcontext.cxx > > @Miklos, you have done some work in this area before, I thought you might be > interested That also fixes bug 147852 - instead of copying the background fill, the shape becomes transparent, revealing the background fill. So far so good. However the problem starts with attachment 118360 from bug 93868 - there we have a white rectangle shape on the master slide before the background and below the "use bg fill" shape. So turning the "use bg fill" shape transparent actually reveals everything behind it, even other shapes. So that attachment becomes unreadable again, because the white rectangle is in front of the dark background. I'm afraid we should really implement this window-to-background feature and add it to ODF. In the short term the above hack can work - I think it's more common to not have another shape between the "use bg fill" shapes and the bg. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148446] LO Writer randomly restarts automatic numbering
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148446 --- Comment #4 from Christian Lehmann --- (In reply to Dieter from comment #3) > Christian, I can't see a restart in numbering in attached document. I load the document directly from the webpage into LO Writer 7.2.5.1. There is first an example numbered E1 and further below another example, formated with the very same style, which also bears number E1, followed by another one numbered E2. The second occurrence of E1 should be E2, followed by E3. Renumbering of the headings does not appear in this extract of the file. It does appear in the original file itself. I can provide a sanitized version of it if somebody wants to look into this bug. > If a bug > is unreproducible, it's not a valid bug report. Please add some steps to > reproduce and infrmations about actual and expected result. Thank you. I certainly would not know how to reproduce this error. However, it is nevertheless a valid and detectable bug because the file must contain a trace of it; otherwise the numbering would not be restarted. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
