Each slot has a different ID number to the system, so I guess if you move
slots, it's the same as moving a card in an ISA or PCI slot - aha, says the

Yeah guys, but don't you think it's strange that the combo card, when
switched from the Libby to the cardstation *only* requested the modem
driver and not the network card driver?

Hay guys this is a 3Com feature. The idea being you can install in slot 1 for work
and then install in slot 2 for home, or a second work location. The 3Com software
treats each slot

But David, but I'm using a Intel card!!!
Remember I said that on my Intel Pro/100 SR combo-card the modem needed
reinstalling but the network driver didn't when I switched slots

Ok; Jon I was talking about the 3Com card that Pres has, a FEM-656c,
what might be applied to you is that this appears to be a feature that the
driver writer can implement

I do not think this is profile issue. I had the same proble when
changing slot in Libby. I have 3COM combo Type II card.
