Hi
I am assuming that the list has 8 values? if so this is calling a nineth
value from the list which does not exist. There are 2 ways arround this -
either add a nineth value to the list that is an exact duplicate of the
first value or change the script to check if i8 and call from position 1
Hi
Im new to this list so I apologize if its basic or been covered before.
I have 2 questions (on separate projects):
1. I am looking for a way to open an application (visual basic) through
Director. The problem that I have encountered is that all the options (open
(lingo command), Buddy
Just realised the answer to my own problem.
The problem with:
repeat with i = 1 to 8
member(canvas).image.draw(getAt(glistOfPointsCatA, i),
getAt(glistOfPointsCatA, i+1), [#shapeType:#line, #lineSize:2, #color:
rgb(150, 0, 0)])
end repeat
was that on the last loop of the above
The problem seems to be the value 9.
gListOfPointsCatA probably has only 8 items in the list. The bit:
getAt(glistOfPointsCatA, i+1) resolves to
getAt(glistOfPointsCatA, 9)
and 9 is too big for the list... the error message you got about List
Expected for Handler is misleading. (call

Greets, I have a kiosk running in a very public place. Somehow, the
Director program is being exited out of, and randomly, the computer itself
is turned off.
The question I have is, how does one exit out of Director? Keeping in mind
that there is NO keyboard, No mouse (touch-screen

Something's crashing something. I'd bet a dlog comes up every once in

Well, there's something going wrong someplece. Some more information
about what's happening is in order, as well as the OS this is running
on, what the program itself is doing, what version of Director you're
running, what Xtras you've used, and so on.
Duh, sorry about that...Dir. 8.5 running
Can you give me some indication of what i am doing wrong?
on mouseUp me
hexN = FF --same hex value as above
The next 2 lines aren't needed
--hexNumWsharp = # hexN --adds sharp
-- hexWquotes = QUOTE hexNumWsharp QUOTE --adds quotes
Change the next line to be
sprite(1).color
you don't want to add the quotes, they are just the string delimiter...

Flog flog flog. There. You're suitably punished. If you're using
DirectMedia, may I infer you are playing video? Used to be with older
Also another idea might be to use the 'alert hook' and put in a handler to
create a text or ini file to store the error that is occuring. This way you
can view what is causing the problem when it crashes!

Greetings All,
I am working on an experiment in colors, it involves displaying different
colors which correspond with a number generated through a calculation which
gets progressively larger. I convert the number into a hexString and save it
in a variable. I cannot get the color to change, it
Justin,
Why are you adding quotes to your hex color string? Let's look at the mouseDown
handler:
on mouseDown me
sprite(1).color = rgb(#FF) --works fine, turns sprite red
updateStage --pg. 264 Special Ed. Using MM Dir. 8

Well, that'll work if it's a Director

hey list --
I have a cd that has been produced that the client wants to port over to the

Hello List,
I appologize in advance and hope I don't spark any flames if this goes

I am in the process of looking for extra contract work, and I have been in

Seriously,
the go to movie issue is probably fairly trivial.
You can use Find to find each the go to movie strings paste goToNetmovie

That's not too big a shaft, Brian.
High-level Director contract work -- depending on market, demand, alignment
of skillset with project demands, clout, and many other factors -- should
start around $40/hr and top out at around $150/hr. Again, lots of
dependencies there. Under one set of

I saw one recently in FL: 2 weeks work, 30 hrs/wk, $1200 total (= $20hr)
It was described as developing a CD-ROM!

What is your screen set to? It may be on 24 bit instead of 32 bit.

Huh. I've been doing well even if I'm _not_ published...
