Hello,
has anybody already made experiences with openldap? I have a strange problem
which I already
posted on the openldap mailing list without getting a helpful answer. I am
running this on a Suse 7.0
(2.2.16) system with one cpu and 256M of memory. Funny is, when I add a second
cpu it just spee
Hello Mr. Clayton:
The actual issue here is that the default netmask for CTC devices
is 255.255.255.255, which does not follow protocols as stated in the
various RFC's pertaining to IP addressing and subnet masks.
I wrote a document on fixing this manually (after install) for the

Yes, better use cdl. After dasdfmt, run "fdasd /dev/dasdf"
and set partitions interactively. If you insist on using -c,
you better show us what was in your dasd.conf :)

Ok, I'll bite - I downloaded the entire RH 7.2 GA distro and now want to
burn the CD's per the layout in the README file. How can I do this when
the SRPMS directory is 969Meg, RPMS is 946Meg - and the typical CD is
only 650Meg?!?!?!?!

Can someone run me through the steps for partitioning a minidisk in Linux?
I have SuSE 2.4.7 and a 200 cylinder minidisk accessed as /dev/dasdf and

Thanks Mark. We are able to ping the printers and telnet to the Jetdirect
box. We are also able to ping and telnet back to the MVS systems. We just
use the basic lpr, and my staff add printers with Yast so the procedure
looks simple enough. Our current printcap has over 400 printers defined,

Dear Steve,
I have appended an e-mail from the IBM TCP-L mailing list, authored by Les
Geer of IBM, to this response. It explains which TCP ports are normally used
by LPR clients when they are trying to send data from their machine to a
remote host (in your case the ports the lpc daemon would pro

Hello,
We are currently attempting to bring up SuSE on our system
for evaluation, and we're having some problems. We have two
OSA/SF Gigabit cards available that are in test at this time.
We have started testing with them thru OS/390 V2R9. We have them
communicating with Communications Server V2R
