Firebird 0.6.1 and managed to login but the menu bars on the

I installed it on Compoaq Presario 900 (a very hard case) with almost
no problems and use it as playground.

usleep gives you usec accuracy, but the system scheduler can't give you
resolution less than 10 millisec quanta...
