I have seen lot of guys from this list, download redhat, debian iso images . How much
bw is required for that ? What should I plan if i want to be able to download it
within a day or two.

Lilo is in /sbin, not in /boot. So long as /boot was a separate
partition, the OP should not have a problem with lilo.
