Hi folks,
After a somewhat lengthy absence of four weeks, my site is back up and
running. The outage was completely unplanned as the server had been
under sustained attack by persons unknown (at the time). There was
hardware damage so I had to replace a few parts ( 2 x 512 MB PC2700 DDR

Tell us it isn't so G!!!
I read the release hype, er I mean changelog and almost did the same thing
but then remembered why I left it and that I didn't need that hassle G.
I haven't used it since 2.2.1 so I can't be much help.

I have some rather large spreedsheets that are all in upper case letters, but
need to convert them to proper name format, i.e. FRED ROGERS becomes Fred
Rogers.
I have spent a couple of hours trying to find this. So in order to save a
poor PC's life, could someone share this knowledge with me?
Are you saying that the contents of the spreadsheet are in caps, or the
filename is in caps? Big difference. Also, are the spreadsheets in SO
format or Excel format?

Man, you anti-KDE guys kill me.
You haven't used KDE since 2.2.1, yet you're willing to speak on how bad it
is? FYI 2.2.1 was released Spetember 19, 2001
(http://www.kde.org/info/2.2.1.html), yes 2001!
That's, um, a while ago...
I assume I don't need to tell you how long 16 months is in
No, I'm not anti-KDE - I just don't want to use it -. nor did I speak
against it - I simply said I read the changes and remembered why I didn't
want to use it. Any one who wants to use it is welcome - and I did try and
give the man some help.
As it stands I abandoned KDE for many reasons.

Depending on the complexity of the sheets, I would probably export the

Mr. Holcomb:
I appreciate your writing about past KDE problems. I have yet to try 3.1,
but am more curious about trying xfce and other 'minimalist' type window
managers. My current manager is Gnome 3.0.
How does one change the windows manager? Please point me to the right HOWTO

Step by step has some hints. For xfce I installed it, then from your user
account run xfce_setup - you only do it once. This copies the .xsession,
.xinit and other files over so xfce will run when you login or type startx.
Depending on what you are using now the procedure varies. Maybe

Many Web sites (www.mozilla.org and slashdot come to mind) have a little
icon that appears at the beginning of the URL in the address bar of
Web browsers and on tabs and in (some) bookmark pages. Several
questions:
1) Is this icon a Windows .ico format file or what?
2) What are the requirements,

Here's the magic from mozilla's homepage.
