Also dropping the jdbc2_0-stdext.jar into tests\lib made the the unit
tests complete ok under 1.3 :-)

embed Tomcat (instead of Jetty) into the test environment that would
be even better. (I made no attempts at embedding Tomcat.)

optimization. It won't be needed because newer log4j versions, those

to be honest. I had
some changes done on Friday (not committed) but thought I'd wait till I
read your response about one of my other postings before finalising it.
I will go ahead and just take a fresh copy of the files from CVS, and
see what else is left to do.

Hi folks,
Given that self-logging seems to work (there is one missing piece in
PropertyConfigurator which will be added shortly), I think we should
give log4j-1.3alpha-1 a public whirl. What do you think?
