Reasons?
- It goes a little more with the standart of "efficient" SO (this is
important since it's the OS that most fits with the planet :)
- It differencies us from Kubuntu & Xubuntu (also blue...) giving Lubuntu a
self image to the world ("see! it's the 'green' ubuntu! - no man, it's
'lubuntu'")

Could be a dark green, to match well with black & grey and make a
sober/cool look.

I know that for corporative reasons we should go for blue... BUT imho i
think that's a paradigm that must fall (ubuntu nor mac are blue!)

Just think about it and tell what you think!

Currently, the situation is not very nice, the mailing list is not open 
anymore, and the PPA is too common. We have to change the mailing or the PPA 
location, or both.

About the mailing list, the best solution is probably to swith to one (or 1 for 
user help, and 1 for devel ?) on https://lists.ubuntu.com/, since it's a more 
standart mailing list (no need to be member of the team).

The PPA will probably diseapears with the time, we need more specialized PPAs, 
instead of one with many varous stuff in it.

cool. Do you have a draft of the mockup?

The current site is based on the Ubuntu Drupal theme. It seems this project
is not so active anymore and there are better theme options.

Currently, we have a few people who have admin access and can change
things. It seems though that the theme has several bugs and every time
someone changes something there are broken links or images do not work. It
is a quite boring task to fix that again and again.

So, I want to throw the theme "over board" and implement a completely new
theme: light, fast and clearly integrated. Looking forward to receive your
ideas for the mockup.

Easy to use, and directly compiled to plain C.
Almost as easy to use as python.

Stop reading my mind! :D

Well, I don't like to repeat myself, and one black (and polemic)
dark taskbar is enough. So yes, we're going that way. More Adwaita
style, even Clearlooks (not looking sooo eighties, of course).

Anyway, you'll have time for choose colours, borders and everything
else. But you'll know that the wallpaper must be BLUE ;)

I'll post some mockups in a week (or two).

Hi, i've got some consideration
about the future Precise theme for Lubuntu.

Lubuntu should have a most professional and clean look as
possible, so:

1 - i like a lot the default light grey panel in 10.04 and
10.10, and i think is a good compromise between style and
professionality:

2 - we should use a monochrome logo for the menu (+1 close to
ubuntu), suggestion:

3 - i like the default openbox theme in Oneiric, but the borders
of the windows should be grey, not black.
suggestion RGB: 3c3c3c

place for announcing the newest version of Lubuntu, it's a place for
discussion.

Secondly I agree with Raphael that the theme should be nigh prefect and
consistent everywhere. That is one selling point of a distribution.

Thanks Stephen,

I found that to enter GRUB you simply press and hold SHIFT.  I added the
parameter to the end of the the boot command and booted they system and it
did the same thing.Lubuntu splash and then the screen goes blank.

I can totally understand the policy but wondered if there was a
different solution. Would it be useful to keep lubuntu-desktop open
and switch the PPA to another team like
https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-packaging for example? For mine I'd
really only want to see the developers having access to upload to the
PPA anyway, especially now we're growing in size with the nature of
becoming official. Moderating the lubuntu-desktop group still means
there are hundreds of people able to upload to the PPA unless I don't
understand Launchpad teams properly (which is also highly likely).
