You should not be able to login with root with the login manager. Or

Not sure we will include games, well I didn't find good idea/example to

Also, creating a config file for Chromium in the skel directory might be
 useful.

Also, might be just a problem for me, but the battery indicator didn't show
up - I'm guessing the icon is missing from the theme. The power manager is
running, but there was no icon.

Is there any plan to include two panels as opposed to the one, sticking
 with the Ubuntu/Xubuntu norm?

Also, I'm aware you installed pidgin, but was any consideration ever given

Will notify-osd be included or are you sticking with notification-daemon?

I think thats all for now, if I think of anything else I'll send it in,
 overall its an excellent release

I don't think people change the layout of their keyboard very often.
However, there is no easy way to configure this behavior.

 2) as for battery monitor on the panel: it should be visible by
default. This empty space looks really strange.
It's a bug in gnome-power-manager.

 3) there is still pcmanfm 0.5.2, not pcmanfm2(
In progress.

 4) you have included osmo as a default program. My friends and me
haven't heard about this program before. And in everyday life may be
it is not so necessary to be included, I think.
It's something to deal with calendar, tasks, contacts etc ... It could
be useful for a bunch of people.

 5) without installing packages xscreensaver-gl,
 xscreensaver-gl-extra, xscreensaver-data-extra I see a lot of

I know, It's also annoying for me. I fixed it before, last upload

 6) when I launch lxterminal, appeared the window without any string

I can't reproduce the problem. you should report a bug under lxterminal.

 serious problems:
  - when I enable autologin on it, I just can't switch my keyboard

  - there is no gui-program to configure LXDM yet. For a lot of

 autologin or so on.
For now, nothing exist, even upstream. It's something on the TODO list

 9) sound card by default doesn't work. So, I have gone to
alsa-project.org, downloaded the latest driver, lib and utils,
installed it. Run sudo alsaconf and after reboot I heart the sound.
It's an alsa bug, not specific to Lubuntu. I think alsa was updated
recently on Lucid, maybe it will be fixed for the next update.

 10) I've got ati radeon 4670 video, but when I tried to install

Surely a temporary problem, Lubuntu is still based on Lucid, which is

 11) I've tried to install fskbsetting. But when launching it gives me

You should report a bug on this package.

 12) May be there should be some games, at least some gnome-games?
gnome-games have too much depends on gnome stuff. If you have other idea

It would be nice if there is something like that for updating packages

Hi!
It's great! Nice artwork! Respect for including such applications as
hardware drivers, printing, languages by default. It now looks very
user-friendly.
However, there are some minor problems:
1) a lot of errors when changing screensavers. It can be solved by creating
directory /usr/share/backgrounds by default.
2) as was discussed earlier when clicking Desktop Session Settings the tab
Desktop should be opened, not Interface.
3) why have you choosen xfburn to include? I think that the most popular
area for installing LXDE (and of course Lubuntu) are netbooks and they just
don't have any CD/DVD-ROMs... In my opinion, it is unnecessary.

I have tested on my netbook HP 1233 - everything is working perfectly, and
using by default 110 Mb out of 1Gb is impressive (with Ubuntu 9.10 mini.iso
+ LXDE it uses after startup nearly 155 Mb). However, if there is xsplash I
haven't seen it, may be because of my videocard (Via Chrome9), I don't know.

I have also tried to run livecd on my notebook Asus M51TR. However, all that
I have seen was Lubuntu logo for approximately 1 minute after what there
came a kernel panic. I'll try to find solution but exactly now I don't know
why it is happening so.

In conclusion, I would like to say that it looks perfect and amazing. Thank
you!

Michael.

It is simply plymouth (yeah Fedora invented it and Ubuntu is now

In the final version nvidia (thx to nouveau) ati (open ati driver)

That’s a similar rig to the one I’m using to test on. It’s more than
likely a PII CPU at that speed, by the way.
Have you tested sound yet, I had to install a driver as on mine.

Here is a quick report on the current cut on an older laptop.

HP Omnibook 910
PIII 500 MHz
320 MB Memory
with 3Com 3CCFEM556B 10/100 PC Card
and SMC 2835W wireless card

Lubuntu seems to boot fine, a little slow, but it looks nice on the old
LCD. Eraser head style mouse seems to work fine.

However, I could not seem to find a way to configure the wireless card.
That is when I checked, and the distro is not detecting either of the two PC
cards in the system. So no report on browser speed.

The system did not automatically mount a flash drive. I was able to mount
manually.

Sound does work; I was able to play an ogg file via mplayer off of the
flash drive.

Hope this helps.
